Item: "Frost King Unbreakable Heat and Air Deflector, Clear Plastic, 2 3/4” Tall, Width Adjustable 10” to 14”"The "unbreakable" in the name is a lie. That's obvious to anyone with an average IQ.I accidently stepped on one of these and it broke, as expected. The only reason I call out this is because I find it a despicable practice to purposefully lie to customers or misrepresent items to customers. That said, the deflector does it's job.I wanted to direct airflow from vents such that the airflow was sent out into the room (or an adjacent room) instead of up and out to the sides. This deflector accomplished this goal. The unit is adjustable, being expandable in size from side to side, so it can fit vents of various widths. This unit is magnetized, so holds secure to metal vents. That said, it can easily shift if bumped by someone. This unit is clear plastic, so does not detract from the decor (not a concern for me, but perhaps for others).Overall: would recommend

Works as advertised
After reading the slew of bad reviews this product has received I was apprehensive to buy one. Since the price was not too bad I decided to give one a shot.Upon receiving the deflector I attempted to test the magnetic strength as that was one of the largely disputed items. I was able easily and securely adhere the vent deflector to my refrigerator. The magnets held the deflector firmly in place sideways without sign of sliding. The vent deflector ultimately went on a ceiling vent. My vents are all painted so I was a little concerned but it did not appear to be an issue as the deflector has been firmly attached to the vent for a few weeks now. There are also screw holes pre drilled in the plastic to allow the deflector to be screwed to the vent for extra security. I did not feel the need to do so.It has been a fairly cold winter thus far and my deflector shows no signs of warping. I have checked it a few times to be sure but there are not any signs of the plastic deforming due to the heat coming from the vent. So far it is doing its job and deflecting the air where I want it.Another nice feature I like is the adjustable sizing. It easily resizes to meet the dimensions of the vent used. Overall I feel as if this was a good purchase for the money. I do not understand the other reviews claiming the magnets do not work. In the event the vent material does not allow the magnets to properly stick there are screw holes for such a contingency. As for warping it may be due to a change in materials used or certain households having a very aggressive HVAC system. I think their claim of “unbreakable” is a little overzealous but overall they work well.

Works for Ceiling Register but may not be for everyone
Im giving this 4 stars because it does about what you expect from a cheap piece of plastic. However, there are some potential problems.I purchased this to solve the issue of a poorly positioned apartment ceiling vent blowing air directly in my face when I have my bed in any of the 3 possible configurations for my room. It does the job, but I'm not convinced it will: 1) fit all standard vents and 2) hold up to normal wear over a normal time span (say a year). At present, it does the job and it does it well. I faced some difficulty getting this device to hold to my vent as the magnets are tiny and are not well placed to work around vent screws that protrude. They may find even more issue with the lever to adjust airflow. YMMV. I was able to get it to stick by having it slightly off-center. This issue could easily be solved by more magnets. The other issue is for wider vents (I've never had one different size than mine in the dozen or so places I've lived, in multiple states) it may cause the two pieces to separate. Or at least sag at the overlap. My standard,or at least standard IMO vent is using up most of the width of this thingamajig. I'm too lazy to measure but it looks to be about 14ish inches wide, edge-to-edge. Again, YMMV.Finally many reviewers stated that the heat causes melting. I'm a vampire and my room remains a cool dark cave. In winter I close my vent completely. For the sake of the people of Amazon, I will leave the galldanged thing open and check to see if it melts. Planning on ordering another for the roomie anyway, so #itsforscience

Works well
I had a similar one these things in my house when I moved in, but my dog stepped on it and it shattered. Being the kind of guy who only knows where to buy something if I've seen it a grocery store, a mild state of panic set in. Take this thing for example. Have you ever seen one at a store in your life? Well? I haven't. I didn't even know what it was called and I'm still not completely sure. I just know it's that "clear plastic thing that sits on top of a vent in your house and keeps the air from blowing into the curtain". In fact, if there wasn't one in my house already, I would have no idea such a thing even existed, and I'd be heating and cooling my curtains like some kind of second class riff-raff. But thanks to some smart people out there who decided to make a "Model 50 Premium Unbreakable Air Deflector", I can sip on my American beverage in a comfortable environment. I splurged for the "Unbreakable" model so that I can rest easy, knowing that my dog will never break it again. My only criticism of this thing is not really a flaw in the product, but rather the fact that I have wooden vents and magnets don't work with wood (so far as I know) so until I find out some kind of wood magnet exists out there (and trust me, I'm on the search even today), I have to use double sided adhesive tape so it won't move around.
