Great string
After 30 years of playing tennis, I finally found a string that can handle both hard hitting and soft touch tennis. Overall performance of durability to softness, this string performs the best which relieveshard hitting players some tennis elbow pain.

Not very durable
Too thick to stay longer. String broken after about 15hours play.

Not GREAT, but solid string for the price.
I use this string in a hybrid setup in my old school prince thunderstick. Volkl Cyclone 17 in the mains and the Gosen AK in the crosses at 56 pounds. I'm an x-college player out of his prime and I've always preferred octagonal polyester strings for the bite and extra durability. When I combination of the two it's a touch softer and easier on my old arm, but does seem a touch dead. The vibration frequency of the string is just a little different than all poly. The Gosen gives me a little softer feel though, than the harsh Volkl, to offset the stiffness. The string seems to be holding up very well, although I use it for the crosses, and they tend to wear a little slower. Tension seems to be holding, and I really like the dual string set up. They're more comfortable than all poly but I don't seem to be losing too much the crisp feel at contact. Solid string for the price.

No need to gut it out
Synthetic gut’s come quite a long way in the last couple of decades and have developed into modern strings that can do it all without the fussy maintenance normally associated with VS. This made-in-Japan AK Pro CX by Gosen came in 17G and appears to be one of their newer offerings. While only able to compare it to the Gamma Pro we had strung on another Yonex E-Zone 100 (also in 17G, also at 52#), it pockets better than that in the less-stellar playing conditions during testing and its durability seems fairly comparable. One interesting tidbit is that the Amazon description lists it as a multi-filament poly while the packaging indicates that it’s a mono.

Try these if you have tennis elbow
I replaced my usual Tier One Black Knight 16G on my vintage Wilson Pro Staff 100LS with a full bed of this AK Pro CX 17G (1.24mm) at 58#.My overwhelming impression is that this is a much more arm-friendly string. The strings feels extremely soft, almost to the point of mushiness. As a result, power feels very muted. Not surprisingly, spin with these round nylon strings was significantly reduced compared to Black Knight which is a shaped poly. Control seemed about the same. Despite the round and apparently smooth surface, these strings do not snap back to square, and you need to adjust the strings after every point. The way the strings feel during adjusting reminds me of gut, though I definitely did not think that while hitting the ball.I don't have arm problems, so these strings feel like a downgrade to me. But if you do have arm problems, you should give these a try as they're much cheaper than gut. If you currently use a hybrid set up with gut as the crosses, you might be able to save some money (and possibly gain some longevity) by switching to these as your crosses. Overall, these are not the right strings for me, but if you fall into either of the aforementioned use cases, buy a set and see what you think.11/1/23 update: Downgrading my review to 2-stars as I broke these strings in less than 10 hours of play. My usual 16G poly typically lasts for 30ish hours, and while I fully expected these to be significantly less durable, I did not expect less than 1/3 of my usual play time. I still think this is a good string for someone with tennis elbow, but you should also be a pretty light hitter if you don't want to be restringing every other week.

Balanced all-around strings with durability
This is a reasonably priced synthetic alternative to natural gut, but with much better durability especially when exposed to moisture. The colors in natural and black are also the most suitable for the vast majority of users. For those who want a specific focus on power, spin, feel, or even color, there needs to be a trade-off usually sacrificing durability. This particular solution seems to be best suited for the casual player who doesn't need to spend a fortune on strings.

Doesn't have feature of Multifilament
String was getting to slip through the flying clamps. It happened three times while doing my mains. Later the knot came open once I finished stringing which was very annoying. I had to cut it out and redo with my Head velocity MLT.
