These scales arrived packed in a sturdy box with extra protective packing inside. They are really lightweight compared to the old glass platform scales, but the non slip feet keep them in place during use. Simple to use - stand on them to start, then get off. Discard the initial weight shown and stand on them again for a true weight. The scales switch off automatically after a few seconds to save battery power. A switch behind the display alters the display from Kg through lbs to St/lb. Very attractive finish (faux bamboo) and wipe clean. Excellent value for an excellent product.

Scales look great and work reliably and I am very happy with them. Easy to read display. No problem pealing off label on front of scales. The product does not come with a printed instruction manual and when one clicks on the link to the manual on the Duronic website, it comes up with 'Page not Found,' therefore I give the product just 4 stars. The manual can however be found by simply typing 'Duronic BS504' into a search engine.

After three years of use, I'm still happy with this. Allows me to track small changes caused by diet and exercise. Things to bear in mind:1. It only gives a good reading on a truly hard floor. My bathroom and kitchen have Cushionfloor padded vinyl flooring which is spongy enough to make it inaccurate. Instead I use it on a section of laminate flooring. My guess is that it's measuring the twisting of a sensor, and any digging in or movement of the feet kills the accuracy.2. When you step on it to turn it on, it doesn't know what zero is. You need to step off to allow it to reset to zero, then step on again to get the true reading.Taking that into account, it's fine. Does what I need and gives consistent readings so I can monitor change over time, plus it's small and light enough I can pick it up and stand it against the wall when I'm not using it, unlike some of the big, heavy scales I had previously.

I found these digital scales on Amazon as I was particularly looking for bathroom scales that were not made of toughenend glass, which most of them seem to be nowadays. What have I got against glass?, well I felt they are slippy when wet, eg on getting out of the shower, and I felt vaguely unsafe standing on glass. Therefore I was really pleased to find these one made of Bamboo! They are really comfortable to stand on, the scales work well and they look pleasant on the bathroom floor. I would recommend.

The good: despite being cheap these bamboo-topped scales look really nice and feel solid and well constructed.The bad: They read 15 (yes, fifteen!) Kg less than the scales at my local health centre. If that figure was true then my GP wouldn't have sent me on a cardiovascular disease prevention course, wouldn't have given me advice on avoiding type-2 diabetes and I'd be able to fit into 34" waist jeans rather than the 48" waist ones I currently need.Returned!

I love how it looks and also that it's AAA batteries instead of the flat ones

My son is a dialysis patient and his weight needs to be carefully monitored, I've checked these scales against the hospital scales and they're spot on.Wasn't too sure about toughened glass scales, these are very well made and strong.
