Coolibar UPF 50+ Men's Women's Blackburn UV Mask - Sun Protective

This is way too porous to wear alone. That also makes it cool and lightweight. I could only recommend it as a 2nd mask to wear over your safe 1st mask. Perhaps if you are a runner and want to look like your wearing a mask while running this will do nicely. Just run fast away if anyone stops you to talk.

A bit large but I find it useful

I was so impressed with this mask which I first bought 7 months ago that our family has ordered 5 of them. That is $125 worth of masks. Unfortunately, I can no longer stand by my 5 star rating and have dropped it to 3. Last week the nose wire broke (which I now see is a common complaint). I contacted Coolibar and all they offered me was 15% off a new one. I did the math, and I have probably worn this particular mast 20-30 times, mostly when exercising. Seems to be a defect in manufacturing for it to already be non-usable (I wear glasses, so need the nose wire to keep my glasses from fogging). I loved it when I first got it, but can no longer recommend... especially at this cost for a product that is less complex than a pair of walmart underwear. Below is my original review before the issue with the nose wire: First a disclaimer... I know this isn't designed as a COVID prevention measure, but I am in the camp that something is better than nothing. I picked one of these up for when I am out working on the trail here in North Carolina. Our crew is required to wear them when working close proximity of each other or when hikers come by. I normally wear a surgical mask when in public places, but taking it on and off when you are working in the dirt isn't ideal. Lots of guys wear neck gaiters, but I don't like the extra material around my neck. This is the perfect compromise. I can drop it around my neck when not using it, and quickly pull it up when people are around. It is easy to breath in and doesn't fog my glasses. For quick use, you don't even need to use the ear loops. No issues with breathing and I have had a problem with "exhaust gas" making things too hot or stinky. I still recommend an N95 or surgical mask for when you are public and close to people, but if you want something that will keep you compliant and is easy to access when you need, but not in your way when you don't, then I highly recommend this one. I got the L-XL and have an average sized head for a man but a big beard. My wife hated it because it was too loose and the material came into her mouth when she breathed heavily, but I am guessing she would need the next size down. The only real drawback I have found is that it looks like I have someone's black thong hanging from my mirror when I hang it in my car.
