Excellent
The fact you need a standard razor blade, makes this excellent for beginners. If you are not dedicated to sharpening and want minimal hassle, you’re better off with something like this.It took me several tries to get figure the angle without cutting myself. But not much more difficult than a safety razor. The slide needs to held while shaving or it could open. The wooden grip has a good feel and for the price its well made. Looks just as advertized.Personal advice; a straight razor of any kind should be bought for two reasons. 1.) decoration. 2.) you are willing to put in the work to learn how to use and risk getting cut because you will. I say this from personal experience.

Best In Twenty Years
I’ve read reviews that said this razor isn’t appropriate for a beginner. I honestly don’t get that. I’ve used straight razors exclusively for 20 years, from fixed blades to inserts. Whether you’re just starting or a seasoned expert, this razor is remarkable. First, I love not having to cut and break razor blades. That’s dangerous! It’s nice to put a full double blade in and just turn it over for a fresh blade! The blade extends from the blade holder just enough to cut beard close but not enough to cause problems. The weight helps with control, and it is substantial. The rosewood handle is beautiful. I’m truly enjoying this razor.I will say the blades that came with the razor are useless and do nothing but reduce the confidence in the seller. My advice to them is lose their cheap blades and either don’t send blades or send truly good ones. I threw them all away after using one. They’re garbage. But a good Gillette blade in and enjoy!!

Great for the money but suffers same drawbacks as all disposable blade straight razors.
I love a lot of things about this razor, the aesthetics, the unique design, the quality of shave and I truly look forward to shaving with it. That said it suffers from the same drawback as all disposable blade straight razors and that is an inability to keep the hinges completely dry resulting in eventual oxidation of the shank and shoulder. This has not happened to me yet but I am certain it will. To postpone this as long as possible, after a shave, I would recommend opening it, removing the blade, drying off the inside with a towel, and leaving it open to dry for a while before replacing it and storing for the next shave.

Muy buena, aunque sería mejor que la navaja salía un poco más

Nice price, maybe I got a lemon, but slide wont stay closed, keeps opening as I use... Other then that, it is made very nice and looks good and a good grip...

Old time shave
I have always been interested in history. This is a new twist on an old shaving technique. It uses double edge razer blades. I got on utube to learn how to use it. Have to hold it at a 30 degree angle from my face. It takes patients, caution and skill to use it. I nicked my face once and it was minor. Feels good to shave the same way my ancestors and father in his early years did. Update. I now have 2 nicks. Just because I got in too big a hurry. Have to think before I shave.

Seemed great at first..
The pin that keeps the 2 pieces together fell out for no reason at some point and got swept away at my shop. So the razor is unusable and I wasted money. Thanks for a garbage product. I was really excited when it arrived, it was light and comfortable in my hand, but when I realized the pin had come out and there was no way I was going to find it on the floor of a barber shop- I knew it was just some garbage quality bs. So not only did I waste money ON the product, but I missed out on making money off shaves at my shop for that week because I no longer had a working tool. So congrats, you got me twice!
