The packaging announces the quality contained inside.
Quality, quality, quality. So good, well built, ergonomic feel, great grip. Barely noticeable in your pocket. Street-legal, chunky. You may think the cost is hard to justify for a penknife, but as soon as you open the packaging, you’ll be so glad you spent a few quid extra on this marvellous piece of engineering. Even the packaging is quality. A nice presentation box containing a really, really good product that’s totally fit for purpose. Get one, give one as a gift. Smiles all round guaranteed.

The best UK "legal carry" for under £20? = probably.
I own a lot of knives - this is great for £19.99 - including next day delivery. This is (arguably) the best UK "legal carry"* pocket knife available for under £20?Good stuff:- nice packaging (makes a passable gift)- decent steel 12cr27 is the best you can realistically expect for this money (easy to maintain an edge and fine for light edc use)- nice little cut out to access the nail nick- lovely smooth operation (no half stop)- nice positive snap into open position- blade centering is bob-on- has a sharpening choil- blade is hair popping sharp out of the box- slightly weighty (I think in a nice way)- lanyard hole (if that's your thing)- subtle branding (just a "W" on the blade - let's be honest it's not a brand you want to shout about).Okay stuff:- light pull (circa a 5)- chimping on reverse of tang is for aesthetics onlyNot so good stuff:- back of tang sticks out when in closed position (doesn't bother me at all but might some people?)- some gapping visible on the back spring.- the transitions between the scales are uneven and can be felt (no sharp edges though)To be honest I have £60/£70 (Sheffield/Montiago) knives with either worse steel, worse centering or worse fit and finish than this. For £20 as a light use UK edc option it is a steal.*by UK "legal carry" I simply mean non-locking with a cutting edge under 3 inches.

This pocket knife proved invaluable during my hiking trips, boasting a compact design that fits seamlessly into my gear. Its sharp blade effortlessly handled various tasks, from cutting ropes to preparing snacks on the trail. The durable construction and reliable performance make it a trustworthy companion for any outdoor enthusiast. Not only performs well initially but also excels when sharpened, ensuring enduring cutting precision. I bought a second one a year after. very recommended product.

Whitby pocket/penknife
Whitby pocket/penknife. Arrives in a great presentation box.Easy to open and close knife. Great weight and quality, beautiful finish. Its everything a penknife should be. The blade is razor sharp and stays that way as well. Use mine to open Amazon boxes, and all post very useful. This design has been going over a hundred years only the name has changed. Lucky to find this item. I am 85 years old, thank you Amazon.

Beautiful knife, and a reasonable quality.
The knife looks just as good in person and fits very comfortably in the pocket, even though it's new I need to double check that it's in there. I did have to carve the edges off of the handle scales because they're a bit sharp out of the factory, and one of the scales has a crack straight across the screw hole but it looks like it's glued on. The blade comes very sharp however one side wasn't ground consistently leaving the edge slightly off centre. This doesn't seem to hurt the cutting at all though and it's definitely my favourite EDC for light cutting and carving.

A great bang-for-your-buck EDC knife (UK legal!)
I was after a UK legal pocketknife and this little slip-joint popped up on Amazon. I must say I did expect it to be a little bigger judging by the picture, but its still a nice little knife. The nail-nick for getting the blade out is nice and deep and isn’t fiddly in the slightest. There isn’t a half-stop for the blade but the closure is slow enough that his isn’t really an issue. There’s a little lanyard hole that is big enough to fit some para cord through. My only real gripe is that the thumb grip on the top of the blade could be twice or three times bigger for better grip. There’s not even a centimetres worth or surface area but again, this is a small tasks EDC blade, I’m not going to be carving with this thing. Overall a nice little pocket-knife and the cost is well matched with the overall quality.
