I LOVE M & W POLAR PRODUCTS ! (WHEN PRICED AFFORDABLY !)
Basically this is the first time I've REALLY LOVED mackerel ! The juice tasted really good also, I'd pour it on my food or just drink it. I ended up only using one fish In my mixed plate, the last photo. In the beginning of Covid I stocked up at Dollar Stores, I bought one can of another brand mackerel to try. I hated it, and the juice didn't taste good either, I ate that in salad. Back in the 1980s I tried it and didn't care for it either, I tried making fish cakes a few times, eh ? I'm a huge seafood eater of all types, no squeamishness here ! Just hadn't found the right mackerel till now ! The problem is affordability for me, a Sr Citizen on a limited income. So when the price dropped to $19.50 for a case of 12 and EBT eligible I could finally try it. Good stuff, I'm glad I tried it. At this price, I'd only buy it occasionally. If the price got better, I'd buy this regularly ! M W POLAR is my FAVORITE Smoked Sardines in Olive Oil, again the problem is price... $3.00 a can, WAY OVER MY BUDGET ! When I found them at an incredibly cheap price at Wal-Mart 3 years ago ( ?). That was the first time I tried those Sardines @ $1.39 a can. I went back and bought $50.00 worth ! I have never had a bad MW Polar product, but I've only bought it at Wal-Mart and Amazon. I won't buy from Third party sellers because you don't know how it has been stored or how long.

Tasty fish
I feed my dogs mackerel and brown rice, with some other ingredients and they are super healthy. So keeping mackerel in the house is a necessity. This brand has a good flavor. I wish it was offered in water instead of brine, because the dogs don't need the extra salt, but I take what I can get. Overall the taste is really good and it's a good price on a 12-pack versus buying them in single cans in the store.

cheap, excellent texture and flavor, even the picky cat loves it, Mom too!
Due to the current pandemic I thought it was a good idea to lay in some canned mackeral (among other meats). I have these vague memories of terrible canned fish as a child but meat is meat, eh? Anyway, come a dark and chilly night I thought I'd crack a can of this and give it a whirl. Oh, how, lovely. Seriously. I read those reviews that mentioned lots of water. It is true there is water, but not so much it's a crime. The can was cheap! There was more than enough mackeral in there for me, Mom, AND the cat. And some fine eating too! I will be eating this again and again. I looked up jack mackeral on the net and it's one of the best fish for you. Some good things have come out of this pandemic. Our trying this mackeral was one of them.

Good source of protein at a good price
Remarkably meaty and great tasting. I eat it regularly for the protein and simple pleasure of enjoying good flavor.

Delicious hearty filets
Move aside tuna, this is my favorite fish for rice combo thus far! Fish, soy, some chili oil, kewpai mayo and rice topped with furikaki = delicious meal. These mackerel are hearty (1/2 the body in one chunk) and beautifully mild-flavored. You could get two or three meals out of one can. Mackerel are super healthy with omega 3s, vitamin D, calcium, and protien. It's just a bonus that these taste good too!

Dented beyond trustworthy to use
I just received 18 or the 24 cans of Polar mackerel and nearly every can is dented. Some a bit on the rims, which is dangerous and most with large caved in dents on the sides as well as dented rims. They obviously are using low quality cans. I would not eat this product. They did give me credit back for the items but don't want to have to pay for them to be shipped back to them. I find that amazing that they told me to just throw them away. This is a Chinese product by the way, I wouldn't have ordered them at all if I had seen that listed without going into the fine tooth issues, the credibility of Chinese food items is dubious at best. That bit of info ought to be listed in the very top part of the description under 'about this item'. Not buried down below where you have to scroll down and find it. I guess I will always scroll down the entire page before I order items again.

It has a fishy smell and taste. Good size for the price. Easily broken up to mix into a salad. And the salt contents is within the acceptable means. smell

Very Good Quality
..No added junk like sodium pyrophosphate which is added to the fancier tuna fish like White Albacore Tuna.. Just salt.. Use this fish with mayonnaise on a sandwich, just as you would use tuna. Each can contains 3 pieces of whole sections of fish. For our family, we serve one piece per person, and one can for lunch is exactly what we need. Cheap and very good for you. Fish is high in Omega 3 which is so important for good health. ...Always so convenient to have in your pantry and will not take up freezer space.
