Worked perfectly
Worked perfectly but I was replacing my Dell fan with a Noctua fan and kept getting error messages. This is not the adapter's fault. It's a Dell issue because the Noctua fan is capable of slower speeds than the Dell. Cutting the RPM signal wire eliminated the error message but none of that was caused by the adapter.

Good Solution to Solve Proprietary Issues
I bought this for a PC build I was working on based on a Dell Optiplex 990. For no reason other than to be difficult Dell motherboards have a five pin fan connector (even though the fifth space in the original plug does not have a pin. I connected this to the motherboard then to a fan controller and it's worked well. Had no problem with the length of it reaching a convenient spot in the case to put the fan controller. Happy with my purchase.

Perfect for using non Dell fans on Dell motherboard
It seems well built and it takes all the guess work out of trying to fit an aftermarket fan into a Dell so you go from the Dell 5 pin fan connector to a standard 4 pin fan plug. Also, this seller is very knowledgeable and provided extremely good service in response to multiple questions I asked. It was refreshing to talk to a seller that could actually understand my questions and respond intelligently. I wish I could leave 5 star seller feedback also but apparently Amazon doesn't like people showing love to 3rd party sellers because I can't find any way at all to leave actual seller feedback. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from these folks again.

It fits, but still throws fan errors.
It fits the proprietary slot on Dell. It's a functional fan cable. However due to the missing 5th pin still causes fan failure warnings for CPU fan. This doesn't affect performance just annoying boot up errors when used in a headless workstation. Simply just have to remember F1 to continue.
