This item starts much better than previous ones I have owned. The sparker is unconventional and not hidden, but it starts more reliably compared to the previous two similar ones I had. Plenty of flame.

garbage product however it's not specifically the seller, it's the manufacturer/design. I bought this same style from a different brand years ago and it worked just as terribly. It's very unsafe too since the flame is very unpredictable and even on the lowest setting can barely put out any gas if at all to full on flame thrower. Turn it up, same behavior, just a bit more flame thrower IF it throws a flame. 90% of the time you're angling it all around trying to get something then it blasts out usually at the worst/unusual angle and then you try to repeat it now you have a flame and it goes back to no flame. Terrible product and one of the few items I've purchased on Amazon that I see now despite being in the return window I can not return this garbage. Beyond just being fairly useless, this thing is truly dangerous. Even as an adult with professional experience with fire, I would not trust this to even burn a weed in your yard which I can confirm it is useless for as well since again, you can't hold it at any consistent angle and get any type of consistent flame even at just about 10* downward.

What are you looking for in a torch? To sear food? Start a fire? Just for fun? Yes should be your answer to any or all of these questions. And if so then you won't be disappointed by this torch. You have to find the right output for it to start but you get that dialed in pretty quick. Most reviews I read say the only con is that this doesn't really have a strength setting. And they're right. But is it really a con? It gets the job done perfectly for searing food, starting fires, or just entertaining yourself (if that's your cup of tea. It's low key mine). But I digress. This is more of a torch style, which I really enjoy. The flame in videos doesn't really accurately reflect actual size. It's bigger in real life. The weight feels pretty good in hand even with a full 1 lb tank. If the torch isn't your style and you prefer flame-thrower style then this might be more your speed.
