Chair Back Broke Less than 1 year. Seller No Help!!!!
Hello, I order this chair June 2013. I came super fast and went together pretty easy. After using the chair for less than a year the seat back pulled away. It made this horrible ripping noise. The chair is now unusable and unsafe to use. I contacted LexMod and took pictures of the chair and proof of payment. They emailed me back and said no spare parts available. They said I needed to contact Amazon since they filled the order.Instead of going on this super around the world trip to be let down, I decided to write this review for any interested party that is thinking about this chair. In closing if you want to waste a 145 + dollars buy this chair and rest assured it will break and you could possibly hit the floor. Also use your Amazon Store Card and get 0% interest and free shipping, hope it will stay together until you get paid off.

It looks like a person wiping stain or something on the chair
My chairs arrived with very visible markings all over the seat and back panels for the chair that do not wipe off with a micro cloth/damp towel. It looks like a person wiping stain or something on the chair, as the markings are in kind of swirls. During assembly, the pre-drilled holes for the screws were slightly off, so that the screw heads didn't exactly fit into their slots. This meant that if you tighten the screws all the way, it damages the surface of the chair, but if you don't tighten the screw all the way, the chair's fittings are loose. Surprisingly poor quality for something of this price.

very comfortable chair for shorter person
This is the most comfortable chair I have ever had for laptop computing, and I have used a lot of chairs in my home office over 20 years. Since there is no cushion (and it doesn't need one), there is nothing to wear out and no fabric to need replacing. I bought mine from a furniture store, but love it so much after several months of use that I wanted to write a review. If you are a short stature person, this may be the chair for you. This is not a dining room or kitchen chair. I bought this chair to use in my home office. My height is about 5'4", so most desk or office chairs are an inch or two too high for me to sit comfortably with my feet on the floor. I can use a low table or place my laptop on my lap and work for long periods in comfort in this chair. Because of its slightly lower seat height, it brings my knees up so that my hips and knees are aligned, which keeps my lower back comfortable. The chair's back puts support at my mid back from between my shoulder blades down to below my waist. The seat is very wide so there's room to sit with a leg tucked under a knee or both legs up in the chair if I wish. The chair has a nice wood grain, slightly matte finish with a very modern look. In a living room, it would be an eyecatching piece because of its unique shape. The feet have protective felt bottoms that won't scratch your flooring.I wouldn't recommend the chair for dining room since it will be far too low for normal height dining room tables in the US. But for casual sitting, I have not found a more comfortable chair. It would be great in a living room or den because of the wide seat which would also accommodate a larger build person (I'm medium build). A very tall person would probably find it uncomfortable because of its lower seat height. In a waiting area, this is the chair smaller height people are going to head for.One thing to note is that since the seat is angled up towards the front to support the lower thigh, it is slightly more difficult to get up off the chair. It wouldn't be comfortable in a setting where you would need to sit in the chair and lean forward because the back support will be in the wrong location or in a setting where you would not be sitting for very long. But even after an hour or more of sitting in this chair, I find that there is not much fatigue from my back or legs requiring me to move around. I recommend this chair for laptop computing, gaming, or living room sitting.

Poor quality bentwood that breaks easily
I purchased this chair in November 2018. Out of the box, some of the pieces appeared to have moisture damage. I chalked it up to a shipping issue and assembled the chair. The back seemed to have a lot of flex in it, but I thought maybe that was intentional. Within about four months of normal sitting in the chair, the back support became very flexible. I should have called Modway at that time, since the chair back support has now completely broken, and these chairs only carry a one-year warranty. When I spoke with a Modway customer service person on the phone, their first question was if it was in the one-year warranty. After that, they were very blunt, and said that they would not send a part for a chair out of warranty. I asked if I could buy the part, and they unapologetically said that they would not sell a part or support in any way outside of the warranty.Although this chair is not as expensive as a Hermann Miller, it is still priced for a thousand dollar dining set. So I would say you get what you pay for, but the truth is they are not even inexpensive. If you buy this chair, I recommend you are extremely discerning when you unpack it, and do not hesitate to call within warranty.. in fact, it might be a good idea to get a spare back support right away, since it will most likely break on you within a couple years... actually, I highly recommend you do not even buy this chair.

Solid, but short
Nice chair, but too short for average size dining table

Don't buy these chairs!
These look great, but after sitting in them just a few times they totally fell apart. I took a while to put these together so I passed the return date, they would not send any replacements or parts. Do not buy these if you plan to sit in them. If you just want to look at them, they look great. But I literally fell on the floor when the legs collapsed.
