Easy to put together, but the instructions are microscopic and not very good...however the house is adoreable and went together pretty quickly. It does have a very strong odor to it, I thought it smelled like cedar so I read the package and it says it's made out of pine, so I guess it smells like pine...but it is extremely strong. I would think it would repel just about any living thing to go inside...except the creepy brown spider that was hiding inside the box and kept showing up while I was putting it together. He is part of the house I guess, I hope he's not a brown recluse. I keep trying to find him, but he disappears into the spaces between the wood slats - which don't even look like spaces. The inside of the cat house and shelves are kinda small if you have big cats. 2 of my 3 cats are quite big. I dunno if they will go in it or not, we shall see. Not much room for them once they're in there, and they don't seem all that interested in going in....but it sure is cute! Originally I was going to buy 3, for my 3 cats.....have a line of condos where each could have their own! But...the price went up, so I'll just stick with the one I have for now...unless the price goes down again!

I did a TON of research before I purchased this kitty home for our outdoor kitties. We all LOVE it!!! It is SO cute...I love going outside and seeing...it reminds me of a Swiss chalet-how does it get better than that? :). Lots of room. Nicely designed. So pretty. Great quality. Quick and easy to assemble. The kitties are really enjoying it. I love that there are really 3 stories on the outside-a porch on the front, a perch right above it in front of one of the windows and, of course, the kitties love sitting on the roof. The chalet opens from the top for easy cleaning and the bottom 2 doors open up to make it easy to clean the first level. The roof is nice quality and attractive. Plenty of room for all of our kitties to snuggle up or have personal space. Love it, love it, LOVE IT!!! -Thank you Trixie Pet Products for making affordable, functional and attractive products.

We’ve had the cat house for a few weeks. We like the look of it. Our outdoor cat likes to go in the door that stays open. He does not use the ramp much. I purchased because the house is insulated, it’s up off the ground and I like that we can put food and water under it. I don’t like that you have to pre drill some holes. The quality is medium. I would doubt this could hold up out in the weather and would be best under another cover. We also have not gone through a winter yet. Fall weather (4 month use update). I purchased self warming mats (from Temu). I keep one in the house and the other one clean and dry so I can swap out when they get damp. I highly recommend a Mylar emergency blanket for the inside of the house. The Mylar emergency blanket goes under the self warming mat and it is big enough to bring up to the ceiling like a tent inside the house. Our cat loves it! He also uses the ramp now and we keep the door cracked for fresh air. The emergency blanket also does not absorb moisture so it stays nice and dry. Winter weather: I took out the Mylar blanket and self heating pad. A lot of moisture was getting trapped inside and there was not good air flow. I purchased K&H Pet Products Extreme Weather Kitty Pad Black Small 18.5 X 12.5 Inches. Solved the excess moisture, plug it in and the pad heats up when kitty lays on it. I run the cord through the back door. Our cat loves it!

Overall, this is an adorable & cozy cat house for my semi feral barn cat. He doesn’t like to be trapped & will sleep on top of any other cat house even in cold weather if he’s nervous-which makes me feel sad. This design means that he can escape if needed with the bonus of being off the ground so rain won’t splash in (even under my extended roof this has happened due to wind). The downstairs part will be lovely for feeding him in the rain since i used to make this complicated fort/roof with my patio furniture for him-which all had to be moved for me to go outside in better weather. Sadly I can’t bring him completely indoors as his tolerance for ‘inside life’ is about 7 minutes & he starts panicking. If that ever changes his little house will be moved inside but until then, I get to see him living his best life! (All I see is a cat butt pressed against the window as he curls up on his upcycled old memory foam pillow I cut in half to fit. It blocks the entrances so I just put old cardboard scratching pads he dulled in the ‘foyer’ -bonus was that since they had his scent, he moved in sooner than he usually does to a new space. Also, I didn’t even attempt the ramp as another commenter mentioned it fell with their cat. I just made a little block of 2 layers of bricks to about halfway to the opening and he could take it from there. There was a little bit of challenge with assembly but persistence, patience & a glass of wine resolved it. *I did notice that both swinging doors were assembled facing the wrong direction with regard to drafts. Pretty easy to carefully take them out & turn them around (just the door, not the frame). Again, for this price point, I am delighted!

Ordered this for our two cats and was so excited, unfortunately, it was a disappointment. Here’s why: First off, the color is actually purple even though the photos clearly show blue. Our house is blue with white trim and a brown roof, exactly the colors pictured, and we picked this product because it matched perfectly. It is also poorly painted and you can see a lot of the pine color throughout the exterior: there is also white paint dripped onto the front door latch. Next, the wood used is pine, which has a strong odor and a weak constitution. There are small gouges all over this thing. Its not major damage but never pleasant to see items arrive with so much cosmetic imperfections. Maybe improve your packaging or choose a sturdier material? One of the roof tiles was also damaged and we had to nail it back together. While the company does include a note saying they will replace damaged parts and hardware but after waiting for it to arrive and unboxing, who wants to wait for replacement parts to be delivered? Third, if you don’t have 20/20 vision, you are out of luck with these directions! Could barely make out which screws to use! Fourth, the openings are small! Our cats are not overweight and they still have to squeeze through the doors and shelves. If you’ve got a fat cat, you’re gonna wanna pass on this house for sure! Overall, if you can manage to see the directions, it isn’t too difficult to assemble. So far our cats don’t seem to like it at all- which is odd because they love boxes and cat houses. We’re hoping it’s the pine smell turning them off and that once it airs out, they’ll use it. If not, we’ll be donating it to our local cat cafe. Its pretty sturdy, I just wish more care was taken in the painting, packaging and instructions. We gave 2 stars because our cats do love the Amazon box it came in lol Update: we’re gonna donate the house but giving an extra star because my cat are so happy playing in the Amazon box it came in lol

I was not sure if my outdood cats would take to something like this. Man was I surprised! Bought two outdoor heater pads and put it right on my back deck next to the back door. Got it just in time for frigid weather and snow. The back opens so I can change out towels and put fresh food and water. 3 stories so I can put food on bottom and the 2 cats can each have their own space, or if really cold cuddle up together. Very easy to assemble, and looks good next to the house. Side opening is too small for our local racoon to get into. Very pleased!

Product was made in China. It is poor quality. It was packaged well enough and arrived undamaged. It had a strong chemical odor when I took the pieces out of the box. When handled, it left a greasy feel and strong odor on my hands. I left the pieces in the garage with the window open for a couple weeks and the odor dissipated. Today I started putting it together. It is very difficult to put together without assistance, but once I got the first two steps done, I thought I would be able to finish. When I got to the third step, the pieces did not fit. One piece is about 1/16 of an inch too thick and it just won't work. I do not believe I can fix this myself. When my brother visits I will ask him if he can shave the part down so it will fit together. I hope none of the other pieces are made wrong. I got rid of the box during the two weeks it was airing out, and it is partially put together now, so returning it would be a lot of trouble. I am disappointed. I think the design would have worked well for my purposes. I have a smaller declawed cat 9 pounds that needs a hideout from the other cats who are about 14 pounds.. It is large enough for him to use comfortably, but I think it is too small for the other cats to follow him in.

We got this to keep cat food away from our dog. We feed her on top and she sleep in the bottom. It has worked perfectly! It was easy to put together and the quality has withstood the rain great!
