I am a simple woman. I see a lake, I jump in it. Now, this may be considered a normal occurrence, except for the fact that I always wear some variety of pants, usually jeans. Jumping into winter waters in jeans is unadvisable, yet I do, and bystanders usually tell me how insolent of a decision that is. But not anymore. I have a fantasy, you see, a prophecy, and these pants will help me fulfill it. Picture this: I’m at a lake, 50 degree temperature, and I’m wearing pants. I spot the smooth waters, the methodical movements of the waves, so alluring that I simply cannot control the urge to touch it. My well meaning friends tell me to resist it, to move on, to ignore the glistening of the afternoon sun on the ripples in the water. “You’re wearing pants,” they tell me, “you’ll get your clothes wet.” Usually, the story would end here. But not anymore, I say, not anymore. I carefully unzip the left leg, then the right. My friends are astonished, taken aback. Before they can utter a word of either protest or amazement, I am knee deep into the freezing water. They can’t stop me. I am one with nature, entirely bonded with the water I so longed for through the contact with the bare skin of my calves. This is God’s design. Heaven sees and realizes its shortcomings compared to the earth. And, without the worry of wet clothes, I am, at last free. I stay there for minutes, seconds, years perhaps. And when I leave, I find the abandoned legs of my pants, and gently zip them back on. While my experience in this paradise is brief, it stays with me forever, yet I am not haunted by the possibility of cold legs so abundant when wearing normal shorts. These pants have allowed me to hope for a moment like this.

I ordered these convertible hiking pants primarily for hiking and playing disc golf. I love the number and layout of all of the pockets - I can easily fit my phone in any pocket and with several zippered pockets I am not worried about losing it during a steep hike. The material is comfortable with a bit of stretch and seems like it will dry very easily. I love the ability to convert from pants to shorts and the option to roll up the pants cuff and button it in place or use the elastic cords.My only complaint is that the size small I ordered was a bit too large. I am 5' and about 110 lbs and usually a small (or size 4 petite) is perfect for me. I expected they might still be a bit long but for this product a size small is a bit large. I've re-ordered in an XS. The waist is fitted in the front but elastic in the back. I'm not particularly curvy so I was a bit concerned with the fit being just loose enough to fall down, especially with anything weighted in the pockets. I will update once I've received the XS but I suspect they will fit perfect. The size small has enough slack all the way around to take in a couple of inches and still fit comfortably compared to what I typically expect of this size.

A bit snug in the hips. Wish there were pockets in the rear and no dark colored piping around pockets. I have yet to try them in the outdoors.

Love these hiking pants! I was looking for hiking pants that were convertible into 3 lengths: full length to ankle, capri length, and shorts and these fit the bill. Lots of pockets that are well-positioned and good fastenings. Seem to be well made, too. Very comfortable and light weight. I had actually bought a MUCH more expensive pair of similar pants from a well-known camping/clothing store but they didn’t convert into all 3 lengths. I hadn’t worn them yet so when I saw these returnable hiking pants on Amazon, I thought I’d check them out. Bottom line: I’m returning the expensive pants :)

These actually are a great pair of pants, however the point at which the zipper separates was uncomfortable for me. I ended up selling them to someone who offered to buy them from me even before l got a chance to return them. They really are comfortable, other than that spot on me. So, hey, l guess it's just me. 😄

Not good sizing. Size down if between sizes as I was.

The pants don't quite match the photo, the fabric is different. The fabric looks cheap, not very durable for camping and hiking, and doesn't really stretch as promised. The fabric in the photo looks heavier and more durable which is why I chose it, the fabric of the pants I received is very light weight and looks like it would tear easily. The fit is on the small side but still okay. I'm between large and extra large, and buy extra large for a looser fit. These fit like a large. It is tight around the legs where the zipper is. I bought them for a camping trip next week and can't decide if I want to return them or see if they can handle it.Edit: I decided to return them. The zipper around the legs was too uncomfortable to wear more than a few minutes.
