This bucket hat is just perfect for sun protection. It is very durable enough to stand up to a full season of hard use. You would not have to worry. The material is very sturdy. If it should get dirty, it can easily go into the washing machine.The men's size runs large. My first hat was the Men's size and it was a little too big for me. A strong wind will blow the hat off of your head if it's too big. I bought the Women's size and it fits just fine.A properly sized hat will provide good coverage from the sun. It covers the head and the neck areas. The fabric is thick enough to protect from UV rays, if you get it in the darker colors. A light color, such as the Pineapple, may not stop all of the UV rays. I do not have the means to test UV penetration. I am making an assumption that the darker colors will do the best jobs of stopping the penetration of UV rays.This hat is of very good quality. To be honest, I bought a similar style hat from REI and paid almost four times as much, and got a hat of lesser quality. That seems to be the pattern these days. Forgive me for touching on political issues in this review but it needs to be said. This very affordable, high quality product is made in China. It is thanks to China and Mexico that we Americans can afford to buy quality goods at a price that allows us to stretch our hard-earned dollars. I find it troubling that a lot of Americans are bashing China. Look, you don't have to buy their goods. You can buy a domestic product, pay a lot more, and probably get back a lot less for your money. That is your choice. Investors know that the domestic corporations shipped manufacturing overseas to China and Mexico in order to increase their profits. In return, domestic consumers are able to afford products that they otherwise may not be able to afford. There are tradeoffs.Anyway, let us get back to the subject of this review. This is a well-made sun protection hat. Wearing this hat will add style and safety to your summer outfit. This hat and a pair of quality sunglasses should be basic summer necessities. People with bald or thinning hair should wear hats on sunny days. The bucket hat is one of the styles which provide the best protection from the sun. Highly recommended.

I found the hat to be well made. I wear it everyday when I must go out doors. The brim is wide and low enough to block the sun when it is higher in the sky. The fabric is bright, virgin, white and reflects the sun's rays very efficiently. It is tight woven enough to block any direct sun light from entering the bonnet. My only objection, and this is the tiniest objection, is that there came with the hat a folding crease across the top that, because the fabric is nylon rather than cotton, has not dissipated. I have not yet tried to wash the hat in cold water so I shall leave that objection open for further debate.

I have a big head. I wish they have XXL.

For reference, my head circumference is 23 inches. This hat fit comfortably over my head and box braids! My makeup did not bleed through the white. It was breezy and kept the sweat off of my face. 10/10!

The hat is made well. Great material, but very big, bought it for my husband and he is a big man with proportionally big had and it is huge. Will not return bur will make adjustments so it can be worn.

I chose xl as I usually struggle with the normal one size fits all. I’m 7 3/4” and it wits fine. Seems to be well made and folds well for travelling
