Pretty much needs a preamp to work. Sounds great online plugged into a mixer or a podcast setup but those have preamps. Plugging into my marshall amp has almost zero output, even cranked all the way up

What else can you expect from SD? This is a great acoustic pickup. I have it in my '63 Gibson J-50. Sounds great plugged in. Wow! Very happy with this purchase.
