Wilfred: The Complete Season 4

Intelligent, intelligent, intelligent, humorous!
It's so rare that a TV show comes along as clever, as witty, as amazing as a show like "Wilfred." The last time I saw something along these lines was "Freaks and Geeks." Fortunately, "Wilfred" got to do his whole story line...quite rare such an intelligent gets to last that long. I think "Wilfred" was perfect they did it in four seasons. They answered everything, but somehow left a few things for you to ponder. This show completely spoke to me. It's almost sad it had to end, because I want more "Wilfred."And, I have to say....before "Wilfred," (really, no disrespect to Elijah Wood), Elijah Wood was a "neither here, nor there" actor to me. I guess he was okay before this...But, Season 2 Episode 7 made me see Elijah Wood in a whole different light. You know how they always say there is a moment....that was my moment. I saw how talented he is and now, I'm adding more movies, rated well or not of his, to watch. I consider myself a movie buff, but to get on my list of people to watch, that's a huge deal for me.I heard Elijah Wood has a house in Austin, TX. I don't know how true that is, but he's actually made that rare list (because of "Wilfred,") I would love to run into him to ask him five questions or less.I will say this...if you appreciate intelligence, if you have any intelligence, you should watch "Wilfred." And the fact I took time to type this shows how much this series meant to me. I never do these things. I'm all word-of-mouth.

Sitcom with man in dog suit -- or Shakespearian "comedy"?
Well, it's kind of both. But given the "fatal flaw" of its main character, and the number of beings that lose their lives over the four seasons, I'd go with Shakespearian "comedy".If you're reading this, I figure it's either because you watched three seasons and are thinking about watching the fourth... or you've already seen it, and are curious of others' reactions. To avoid the many potential spoilers, I'll address the first group. (If you're in the second group, there are some good in-depth discussions of the finale on other websites, with loads of comments. "Post-mortem" interviews with Jason Gann, Elijah Wood and show-runner David Zuckerman can also be found.)Despite a couple of uneven episodes, and two supporting actor changes, I would recommend this season to anyone who has seen the first three. Jason Gann and Elijah Wood put on excellent performances. The show gave me chills during its satisfying conclusion, and nicely addresses many questions...-- Is Ryan mentally ill?-- What is this cult he keeps finding references to?-- Will he end up with Jenna or Amanda or neither?-- What *is* Wilfred? And is he good, evil, or neither?-- What *is* Bruce? And is he good, evil, or neither?-- Why did Ryan have such issues with his dad? Is his dad good, evil, or neither?-- What happens to all of those characters -- plus Kristen, Drew, and Ryan's mother -- going forward?Don't you want to know...?

Best Show Ever
This is the best show I've ever seen ever. It has beat out True Detective. Some of the jokes are dumb and sometimes and plot is very scattered but even with those complaints this show was a masterpiece. Elijah Wood is spectacular. Shame whoever directed this didn't do Lord of The Rings. The American Pie guy is also great for his part. If you've watched the other 3 seasons this is a must see. It covers the big questions about the show in a touching way. And even when the show gets serious they keep the dog jokes coming. I've read some people saying they are still confused at the end of this show which makes no sense because they answered all the big questions. One big complaint actually is they changed actors for Bruce and the Mom. The replacement actress for the Mom was fine but a Baldwin that isn't Alec for Bruce was a bit of a travesty. The other guy was so good. It's a shame he wasn't able to finish the show.

Watch this show from season 1! You won't regret it.
Very intelligent, deep show. Sad it's not going to be around longer. I feel this show is very under appreciated by the vain who just see a man in a dog suit and say "looks dumb" and don't give it a chance. I find that there is a lot to be learned and loved, which is not something I would say about a television show normally, it's a work of art, and a master piece.

Dog ere God.
One of the best shows on television ever. So probably too good for the unwashed to appreciate, but their loss.

Terrific Series!
Love this show! Too bad it was only 4 seasons. It was excellent, couldn't help but watch it pretty much straight through. The ending was not what i expected, but it was an excellent ending! True and hilarious show and at times very sad as well, and it also really made you think about some things in another light. Awesome!

Last season a little messy, but still entertaining.
The first two seasons of this show was genius. The third season was pretty good and got interesting, but in the end of the third season you notice that they rushed the writing and it ended in my opinion on a pitchy note. This last season, Season 4, is somewhat of a mess and all over the place, but Episode 5 (the latest episode, thus far), seems to be more cohesive, focused and funny. I'm hoping the writing stays consistent and wraps up the series on a high note.UPDATE (8/14/14): Just saw the season finale and thus completed the entire season and I've changed my three star rating to four, for this season. My hopes about the writing staying consistently focused and funny, like I found it to be in Episode 5, were fulfilled. From Episode 5 on, things seemed to fall into place and got back on track.I won't give away any spoilers, but I must say that how I envisioned the series ending was the same vision the writers had and I am pleased with my four season journey of Wilfred.Awesome show and will miss it, but at least it left me with a smile on my face.
