I used these for freeze dried meals and they are amazing. They bounce around in totes and back of the truck and they stay sealed.

I bought these Mylar bags because they were described as being made for MREs, which are usually rehydrated by pouring boiling water into the bags. Some of the comments said they worked fine for that use. Yet right on the bag containing them it clearly stated that scalding water WAS NOT TO BE USED! Let's be consistent.That being said, they are definitely 7 mils thick. In fact, they are so thick I wondered at first if my impulse sealer was actually sealing them - however, it was. The seam just doesn't look the same as it does on most other bags.Overall, I like the size and shape. I was able to fit 4 cups of freeze-dried food into these, and expect them to easily serve 2 or 3 people.

These are my absolute favorite Mylar bags. I have ordered them quite a few times. They are the perfect size and are so sturdy. I am hesitant to order them again though because the price keeps going up. When I first ordered them, they were a great value. Now, not so much. Sadly, I might have to switch to another Mylar supplier.

These work perfect for our freeze dried meals.

This product is much better than I had expected it to be. I think I'll order more. I'll making ready made meals when it's time to travel long distances to avoid fast food that costs way too much and is not really healthy for you anyway. I'll also use for camping trips.

I am very impressed with these bags. Perfect size for a 2 person MRE. Will get more in the future

I ordered (50 count) stand up pouches for freeze drying. Only half of the mylar bags were stand up with the wider bottom. The rest were standard mylar pouches that are more difficult to fill and seal. Not sure who dropped the ball, but someone needs to be told to fill the orders as requested and paid for.7/30/20Just bagged some freeze dried food and noticed that even though it looked like a single ply at the bottom, it did open up. So, I examined the rest of the pouches and they are all that way. It was hard to see, and if you don't push them open at the bottom, it stays as a standard pouch.So, my apologies for my misjudgement. I like the zip top, as it allows you to get the air out quickly to seal with the oxygen absorber intact and working. Then I can do a final seal with heat. Have only bagged a half dozen...so far, we're good here.
