A+ quality, A+ performance.
Works well. First chance I had to make use of this fine piece of equipment was this morning, after last nights thunderstorms. I have a chain saw, but didn’t need to break it out for this small job. The Condor, WORKS. Balance is good, sharpness and durability, both good. Build quality is WAY above average. It works, and holds up under pressure to perform.

Great Parang!
I originally reviewed this on the main Condor page here on Amazon, but I bought it through United Cutlery so I wanted to make sure my review was here as well: I bought this parang as a general-use tool to have with me when I'm off road in my truck, for cutting away brush and also to have a general cutting tool for anything else I might encounter. In this capacity it is perfect. What I like: - It arrives well packaged. - The Sheath is breathable and high-quality. - The handle is comfortable and ergonomic, and the flares at both ends keep the tool in your hand as you swing. - It's well balanced. - It keeps a decent edge. - The parang style of machete can be used as both a general machete and as a camping/survival tool. It multi-tasks well. Nothing really stands out as a negative at this point, but I can say the sheer thickness and weight of this parang could be a plus or a minus, depending on the task at hand... it's surprisingly thick and heavy for it's size. Lastly, before you purchase this, be sure you understand that this is a tool, not a collector's item (although it does look cool). It's made of relatively soft carbon steel so that it "gives" instead of breaking, which harder, more brittle, steels do. It's meant to be used and abused, not hung on a wall. Don't get me wrong- the steel quality is great, perfect for its task IMHO. But I wouldn't hesitate to do some choppin' with it!

While all the Condor products are built great, some are better for certain applications
I've used several different machetes in chopper applications. While all the Condor products are built great, some are better for certain applications. Yes, this may not have a fancy micarta handle or the best sheath, but you buy a product like this for how well it functions. And this functions phenomenally! When cutting up dead-fall wood for campfires, there's nothing better. There are lot's of big thick machetes out there, but it's not just size that matters, it's balance. The ergonomics and balance on this thing are awesome. I did a head-to-head comparison with the Condor Warlock. While the Warlock looks great, is big, and has a fancy micarta handle, it simply does not have the balance of the bushcraft parang. The balance and ergonomics of the bushcraft parang are IDEAL for chopping. I'd say if you NEED something smaller and lightweight, go for the Kabar Cutlass. Otherwise, BUY THIS BLADE!

Chop chop.
Good blade. Strap over handle of sheath does not fit around the handle, so it cannot button.

The edge is sharpened like a cheep Walmart hatchet
The edge is sharpened like a cheep Walmart hatchet, Kind of parabolic. I took 4 hours re tapering the edge so it could be easily resharpened in the field. The metal is fairy soft and it dulls quickly but wouldn't chip from heavy abuse. The handle is quality. It is just a little too heavy. Obviously carbon steel as it rust quickly. I'm not impressed overall but it will serve well an casual camper, and it is nicer than the Cold-Steel Machete I bought. It's just not high quality steel or high quality metal work.

Strong enough for cutting brush and thorny bushes - but small enough to easily carry.
This 13" Parang was just what I was looking for. Strong enough for cutting brush and thorny bushes - but small enough to easily carry. I have seen some reviews commenting that the nylon sheath was too small and consequently would be cut as the blade was sheathed - but I did not find that to be true on the blade/sheath that I received; they fit each other perfectly. I wrapped the handle in hockey stick tape to make it really perfect.

Central American Juggernaut
Really impressive unit. I guess German influence in the jungles of Central America would lend itself to the creation of a tool that not only will stand up to the flora and fauna but will do it with agressive precision and determination.
