Whole Earth Supply Knifemaking Billet (Twisted Damascus)

I haven't worked it into a blade yet so I don't know the final outcome but the Billet is what I expected and has really nice figure in it. It will make a beautiful knife

steel looked great but.....it had some issues. billet was not flat had to heat and flatten, then grind flat. there were some inclusions that caused problem with the finished knife. absolutely no communication from whole earth supply... i attempted to find a hardening/tempering schedule from them and no luck. also attempted to get a etching recommendation and again no response. a good experiment but have now ordered material from other suppliers.

Very nice Damascus! I used it to make bolsters and guards for my handmade knives. Must have an etching solution to bring the pattern back after forming and polishing for best effect.

there was a major delamination in the material that caused me to have to throw away an entire billet. I had a customer that wanted this particular design so I purchased another billet and it was fine.

The bullet looks great! Not finding any delams so far. And it came at about 1/4" instead of 1/8, so that made me pretty happy. A little more to work with.Will update when knife is complete and I can run it through some tests

Cracks and delimitation. Pretty disappointed. I wouldn't make a butter knife out of this. Really noticeable bad cracks that go as far through as I care to grind.

Damascus must be etched for the design to show.

Very nice pattern. I had a slight problem with the first billet I received and Whole Earth Supply handled the replacement promptly and courteously. I am a satisfied customer.
