Hydrolyzed Pea Protein is the Way to Go!
This Canadian yellow hydrolyzed organic pea protein is great for high protein muscle repair. It’s full of tons of great amino acids that help you burn fat while aiding in muscle recovery. I take 2 scoops of this stuff daily. It is a little coarse and it is not flavored (like vanilla or chocolate) so it really goes best when blended with other ingredients. I typically do 1 banana, mixed greens, 2 scoops of protein, 1 scoop peanut butter, blueberries and water and it is absolutely delicious. So if you’re looking to lose weight and gain muscle, this protein is a great pick-up.

Awesome protein powder, and it actually taste great.
Mixes really great with a very smooth and nice texture and taste. It’s a healthy protein organic can’t go wrong with adding this to you every day power house drinks or even on its own. I mix it just with water and it’s really good.

Pretty Great, but Strong Aftertaste
This is a great protein powder for the price; you can’t go wrong with it. It has a great amount of BCAAs, which is great, and it doesn’t have all those nasty sweeteners and unnecessary ingredients. The only thing though is the flavor. I don’t know how people like it. I’ve tried a lot of pea protein powders, but this one has a strong, bitter aftertaste that I haven’t experienced before. I’ve tried adding a lot of sugar and milk, cocoa powder, mixing it with a lot of fruits, yogurt and many other things...nothing masks that aftertaste. It’s like a metallic flavor...I can’t describe it any other way. I just gave up and mix it with milk, sugar and cocoa powder and chug it (ugh). If you can put up with that aftertaste, then you’re good. I haven’t found another good protein powder that’s cost efficient and still has great ingredients. I’ll definitely keep buying it once I finish my tub because of that.

Great vegan protein! Really smooth and mixing well!
If you are looking for a clean, affordable vegan protein powder, buy this product. I’ve been using it for a while, and it definitely is a great value and great product. It has no artificial ingredients, sweeteners, coloring, or other ingredients, just 100% pure yellow peas sourced from Canada. There are other pure pea proteins that you could buy, but there really is a difference between this one and others because it is Hyperhyrdrolyzed, which basically means it is much smoother and less grainy than other pea proteins. For those of you who have tried other pea proteins or vegan proteins, you might remember the inconsistent consistency that is pretty normal in them. In this one, though, you get a lovely smooth texture! Really, this is a great source of protein for vegans, vegetarians, or anyone who wants to use a simple, pure, and clean protein powder! If you buy it, just know that the taste is pure pea protein, which means you’re probably going to want to blend it together with something that tastes a bit better. You can drink this on its own if you want, but it’s much better when blended with something like bananas and peanut butter.

Has an unpleasant taste.
This may be a wonderful protein supplement but it has a pea taste and not always a good additive to certain foods. If used as a smoothy addition I use a stronger flavor fruit or peanut butter to hide flavor.

I rarely ever finish a full jug of protein but this is my third purchase.
I can count on one hand the number of times I have repurchased a jug of protein more than once because I actually finished it. This is the third jug of protein I have purchased. I love how it tastes and the full feeling after a workout. I love that it is clean protein and does not make me feel bloated. It has a bit of a flavor but I actually like it as opposed to the fake vanilla taste of so many of the ones out there. Normally I stop making smoothies and just go buy them after the gym but this is the first one I look forward to. I add pb2, cacao powder and some stevia. LOVE IT

Good vegan protein powder
A good protein powder, dissolves well. It’s a bit gritty if you mix it into something other than a smoothie. It does have an earthy flavor which I can’t taste in a smoothie but is noticeable if mixed with something else. Not a horrible taste, but it is earthy.

Do NOT mix with fats
I've been a fan of soy isolate for a while and mixing that with Soy Silk is perfect because they're made from the same protein powder. So when I got HydroPea, I decided to test it with several liquids including the Almond and Cashew Silk (made with pea protein). From numerous tests, the WORST thing you can mix this powder with is a fatty liquid like milk or Silk - it clumps hard. Shaking vigorously with a mixing bottle is not enough to put the powder into suspension. I had to pull out a blender to get just powder and liquid to mix. Even then, it left a disgusting flavor on my tongue and the grittiness left me gagging by the end of a 500mL, two-scoop shake. It's even disgusting in oatmeal. Sugar alone was not enough to disguise the aftertaste - I had to dump in a tablespoon of cinnamon and a teaspoon of clove. In non-fatty non-acidic liquids like apple juice it's got the same taste, but is slightly easier to choke down. Dissolves much easier, too. Doesn't make you want to hurl, but it's not pleasant. Basically, in order to gag this down you need a ton of sugars/carbs to cover up the gross lingering flavor. Which defeats the purpose. I won't be buying this product again.
