PANTENE Expert Collection, AgeDefy Advanced Thickening Treatment

I have always had thin, fine hair. Ever since I had twins at 37yrs old, I noticed I shed a lot more hair than usual... Especially in the shower or when combing after shower. It's gotten even worse since I turned 40. I usually use the Pur a Dor Scalp System but I never repurchased after running out last time and I was noticing a lot of hair loss. I logged onto Amazon intending to buy my usual brand (which is a bit pricey), when I saw this product. I can't believe I never came across it before. I like the quality of the Pantene products I use, so I decided to go with this, especially since it's such a good price for 2. I am extremely impressed. It stopped all my hair shedding while giving lift to the roots after my 3rd use (still saw significant results even after 1st use). It does the same thing my Pur A Dor brand does at a fraction of the price and a bottle lasts me much longer than I expected. Even though it states you should use daily, I only use it on days I wash my hair, which is every other day and I still get same results. I spray directly into scalp, separating my hair in layers with the end of a rattail comb. I usually do 3 sprays per section and to make sure it is absorbed well into the scalp, instead of massaging in with my fingers, I use a head massager with very large teeth that I had put away when I bought it for the smaller one to shampoo my scalp. It does an amazing job of massaging product in and stimulating scalp and I also get more lift at my roots than when I use my fingers. So happy to find a quality product an affordable price and I will continue to repurchase until they stop selling it

My hair was thinning, maybe due to age or the fact that I wear it pulled back a lot, securing it with an elastic. I had always had fine, but thick, hair; so I was heartbroken when I was starting to lose more of it than usual. All of the sudden my hair seemed much more snarly, and my brush would be full of hair after each use. I decided to give this product a try and am so glad I did. I can't say that my hair looked two or three times fuller right away, but the hair loss stopped almost immediately. I was so relieved. I will never know for sure if it's this product that helped or if the hair loss would have stopped on its own, but I will continue to use it. I have been using it for about a year now. At first I used it every day, whether or not I shampooed my hair. After about 6 months, I started using it about twice a week. No more massive amounts of hair in my brush and no more having to "adjust" my hair after styling to make sure my scalp isn't showing through. I have been seeing new hair growth around the fringe for a few months now, which I find encouraging. When I pull my hair back in a ponytail, it feels as thick as it did years ago. This product may not help everyone, but it helped me; so I would certainly recommend trying it. As a side note, I use Pantene Pro-V Full & Strong shampoo and conditioner. I would give these products a 5-star rating. And I've also been doing the reverse shampoo thing. I wet my hair in the shower, apply the conditioner, let it sit while showering, rinse it out, then shampoo once, and rinse. I used to always shampoo twice then condition, but reversing the procedure and only sudsing once leaves my hair feeling fluffier and cleaner than before. Go figure. :)

Love this stuff - truly makes a noticeable difference in the appearance of my hair. Not quite like the model on the box, but she's starting out with a ton of hair to begin with. I have very fine hair, which makes it look like I don't have much because it's pretty limp. With this it feels fuller and softer. I was getting it from Target and CVS before and both have stopped carrying it, so I was glad to find it on Amazon - hopefully it sticks around for a while.

I like the effect of a fuller sense of hair this product produces, however, I cannot use it each time I wash or there is a side effect build up that dulls my hair. I use it once a week when I really want to style my hair, but skip it the rest of the week to keep my hair shiny.

I love this stuff so far! It took about 30 days before I noticed a difference. I would recommend using a hair oil in combination with this product though. The ingredients do include alcohol. Which in turn dried my hair out a bit. However; once I used the oil along with this Pantene collection, my hair texture was back to normal, yet thicker. Be generous when applying, and make sure to rub it in.Please note: This product doesn't help you grow more hair. It helps your already existing hair become fuller and thicker.

I really was quite hopeful that this product would work. I had never had an issue with thinning hair before. While my hair has always been fine, I’ve had a lot of it. Maybe it’s the natural process of getting older or it is a side effect from one of my many autoimmune diseases. It’s something that makes me incredibly self conscious because other than this issue, I don’t look my age. I have searched high and low for something to help with the thinning that is primarily on the top of my head. I followed the directions to the letter. It says after the first use, you will look like you have an additional 6500 hairs. I noticed no difference whatsoever. The instructions say to spray it 15 times in the middle part of your hair, and to massage it in for one minute and then style as usual. I’ve done that. However, if you follow the directions and “style as usual” your hair will feel like plastic. I’ve found to avoid that, I have to brush it until it’s dry and then the plastic hair issue does not occur. It does make your hair incredibly soft and has a pleasant scent but, that’s not why I purchased the product. I’ve been taking biotin for several months as well and that doesn’t seem to be having much of an affect either. I don’t hold out much hope that this product will all of the sudden work but, I haven’t been using it for a full month. So, in the event that something miraculous happens after using it for a full month, I will update this review. Otherwise, I can say that this will be the last time I purchase this or any product from the Pantene AgeDefy line.
