2005 R53 (mini Cooper S) facelift requires SOME modification
Doesn't list a fit to R53 but 'they' say if it fits a BMW E46, it will... yeah, not quite. I saw a write-up beforehand using this one and knew the clockspring may need modifications, so, no biggie. Yep, I needed to cut off the connections for the steering wheel radio and cruise control buttons. Not going to use them anyhow but just know it's a one way ticket. Had to cut the horn connector off as well, then re-solder wires for the horn so they were almost flush (otherwise they interfere with the hub). Add the washer like other reviews have stated (ground a 3/4" ID washer to a little bigger than 3/4 for it to fit over the spline) and placed it first on the spline before the hub adapter (adapter's not quite deep enough). Last thing was to cut down the round locator 'pin' on the clock spring a little (too tall) and -this part I wasn't expecting - had to use some epoxy to create a saddle on the backside of the adapter to add material to 'capture' the pin so the clockspring rotates with the adapter (there are two holes in the back of the adapter, but neither line up even close). Fits good and turn signal cancel works after all that - HAHA

2002 BMW 330i E46
For 02 e46. First pic is steering wheel in other e46. Second picture is the tabs you are releasing on back of airbag/steering wheel. Third is after installation and 4th is with a Nrg quick release. No issues and don’t anticipate issues from Nrg products.

great product
Fits great on steering column, sounds like it’s rubbing on something though i might’ve tightened too much though, if you want to keep close to stock spacing to wheel you only need this no quick release

NRG BMW e30 short hub adapter
this new hub adapter is awesome1st, its perfectly machined, extremely well built...better than any others ive seen.2nd, its lightweight and strong3rd, its slim design allows the larger quick release types to be used (im using both NRG 2.0 and 2.5)4th, it has the turn signal arm perfectly mathced up.some of the pix (rear)report my addition of a horn ring (for a street car), to clarify, my short hub didn't come with a horn ring *(nor do i see any on the manufactures site, leading me to believe they arent made with them), but i have one from an old sparco hub that i installed on the back side of this one.race cars don't need them, however to make your own (for a street car such as mine) simply fallow these stepsanything conductive (large washer, or cut the bottom of a coffee can, large beer can to make the ring will work1.get the horn ring sized using the pic i have included (the worn arc on the back)2.using electrical tape, cover the back side of the ring with a non-conductive strip.3.secure to the base (i used high temperature glue from a local hardware store).4. allow to dry, and run a wire from the ring to your horn button (ground or positive, depends on your car, for the 1989 bmw, its ground...1 wire)

A bit pricey
Did not work with the clock spring in my 1995 325i m50. I did manage to adapt it to work with additional hardware I had at home.
