Does Not Have the Range Claimed
I currently have an amplied antenna but only with a 40 miles range. The antenna is made to be stuck to a window and will not sit upright on a flat surface like the Mohu will. I was hoping to be able to receive two Washington, D.C. area TV stations that I cannot currently receive. I purchased this antenna because it is amplied, claims to have a range of 60 miles, and can sit on top of a flat surface. However, I could not receive either of the two stations, at all, with this antenna. One station is 18.07 AIR (not road) miles from my house and the other one is 18.52 miles. I did an auto search of channels with the TV at various times during the day, early evening, and late at night/early AM hours with this antenna and still was never able to pick up any signal at all from the two stations. The antenna and TV initially were on top of a chest of drawers, next to a window, on the second floor of my house, and the area I live in is 152 feet above sea level. There are no tall obstructions (e.g., office buildings, mountains) anywhere near me.I then moved the chest of drawers, with TV and antenna on top, to the other side of the room directly across from the window hoping to improve reception, but it did not. I put the antenna in many different positions on top of the chest of drawers, and even on the floor, when it was next to the window and also across from it, but it didn't make any difference. Each time I moved the antenna (when it was both next to the window and then across from it), I did an auto search for channels. I sometimes even tried entering the two stations manually, but still was never able to receive any signal from either of them.I was not able to receive any additional stations that I am not already receiving with the antenna with the lesser range. I even tested the 2 different outlets the antenna was plugged into to make sure it was receiving AC power, and they were. I also made sure that the coax cable connected properly to the TV.I was very disappointed in the performance of this antenna. I was hoping that with the additional 20 mile rrange, I would be able to receive the 2 stations I currently cannot, and some additional stations. I was unable to, so I returned it for a refund. This antenna got good reviews on several product testing web sites, which is another reason I purchased it. But the distance capabilities of this are greatly exaggerated. I can see where in a suburban environment where I live and trying to receive a signal from an urban environment, that it would not be able to pick up a TV station 60 miles away. However, this antenna couldn't pick up the signal from two stations only a third of that distance away.

Picture Perfect, Trouble Free
Totally worth the little bit extra. I've had the Clearstream Eclipse (Antennas Direct 50 Mile Range Clearstream Eclipse Amplified Indoor HDTV Antenna, White/Black (ECL-A)) for about a year and a half. From day one, I lost PBS which was not a deal killer, but I had to move it around like the old rabbit ears on multiple occasions depending on the weather and sometimes time of year. In the past week, I started having issues with stations which had been perfectly clear and could not get it positioned at all. I decided it was time to try something different. Did a quick search, found Mohu was highly recommended fore a little more. A little more isn;t even that much given the grief I've had. From the instant I hooked up the Mohu, I had all my channels including PBS! I haven't even done anything but plug in the antenna itself, no amplifier and everything is perfect. Highly recommended! I'll switch out the cable (new one is white so blends in better) over the weekend and maybe even try the amplifier, but I don't think I need it.

I do recommend even though I rated only 3 stars
I deducted 1 star since it is expensive. I deducted another star because this is only marginally better than $35 middle Amazon Basic "High Performance" HDTV Antenna. (The middle "High Performance" offering of the 3 Amazon sells). What I learned over the past couple of years with trying and testing "Leaf" type antennas is everything depends on whether or not you even get decent reception where you live. If you've tried any kind of "cheapo" or non-Leaf type HDTV antenna that you got at a local store, and you barely are getting 1 or 2 channels, then I would recommend don't bother with the 3 less expensive Leaf and Leaf type offerings. Just save yourself a lot of grief go straight to the Curve 50 despite the cost. Here's why: the Curve 50 is the only one where I got all 4 major networks and PBS without having to move the antenna around when I changed channels. You still need to make adjustment every once in awhile, but since the Curve 50 is solid material with a sturdy stand, it's a breeze to adjust as needed. The Leaf type are very flimsy and floppy. They flap and bend and you have to mount them to a window with tape or some other adhesive material. So it is a major pain adjusting the Leaf types, because it is basically re-taping over and over again.I started with Amazon Basic's $20 "Regular Performance." I actually got all the the major channels and this one even managed to pull in the most distant that even the Curve 50 cannot. However, the problem was it literally had to be adjusted each time I changed the channel. It's too annoying if you rely on antenna for your TV to have to adjust every time, especially with tape on a window. So then I went to the middle Amazon basic $35 "High Performance." Oddly I didn't get as many channels as the $20 one, but I didn't have to physically adjust the antenna every time I switched channels. I still got the 4 major networks and PBS, but I only had to adjust my antenna two spots depending on which station I was watching. So there was no guesswork involved where to put the antenna, and I learned ways to make it easier to re-tape as needed. I stuck with this method a long time, because I didn't care so long as I could get the major networks reliably, and I'm not a big TV watcher. However, I had trouble pulling in ABC when I needed. Most of the time I got it, but there were times that I just couldn't get it no matter what, so I knew I was going to have to get a better antenna. So I first tried the Mohu Leaf 50 (which basically is the equivalent of Amazon's "Extreme Performance"). It wasn't very good at all, and zero improvement over the $35 Amazon "High Performance" that I had been using for a long time.So after trying Mohu's Leaf 50 I bought Curve 50, and since I could get all 4 networks and PBS without adjusting (most of the time); and since adjusting was so simple because of sturdy stand, I do recommend.Oddly, if I go way back in time, the lowest offering by Amazon, the $20 "Regular Performance," pulled in the most channels, even more than the Curve 50, but you just had to adjust for every single channel, and it didn't pull in channel consistently or reliably. The Curve 50 might only pull in 5 or 6 for me, but it is the most reliable and easiest to adjust.

NOT AS EXPECTED, NOT AS DESCRIBED.
SIMPLY DID NOT WORK. AFTER IT WAS HOOKED UP, I RECEIVED LESS CHANNELS WITH IT THAN WHAT I WAS GETTING WITH SIMPLE RABBIT EARS. I RETURNED IT.

Did not work as well as another style which adheres to the window. I tried the Mohu positioned close to the same window position and it pulled in fewer channels.
