There's no point in being grown up if you can't be childish sometimes...
We are die hard Whovians and as soon as we heard that a Doctor Who Lego set was coming out, everyone wanted it. I do think the price is erring on the ridiculous side, but most Lego sets are. My kids LOVE Legos, especially my twelve year old. His top Christmas request was this Lego set. When my son opened this Christmas morning, you would have thought he won the lottery. He wasted no time getting it out and putting it together. We have all enjoyed playing with this set and the figures are so adorable. The Daleks and the Weeping Angel are awesome. They even included a fez! The little sonic screwdriver...stop it! My daughter was thrilled that Clara was included. The TARDIS is fabulous! It's great that it comes with the exterior and the interior. My children thoroughly enjoy reliving the Doctor's adventures and creating new ones. Whether you're a kid or a kid at heart I highly recommend this set for hours of fun play (or just to admire because it's the bees knees). If you're feeling adventurous, add Star Wars Legos, Frozen Legos, and Jurassic World Legos and let your imagination go wild. There's nothing quite like a Dalek with Raptor legs. Next stop ~ EVERYWHERE!I will also add, I've noticed that several reviews say this set isn't for children. I have to strongly disagree. My twelve year old son, ten year old daughter and six year old son can follow the directions and put this together with no problem. (Actually we've had it for a month and my twelve year old no longer needs the directions.) My four year old son still has some trouble, but he can assemble quite a bit of it on his own from watching his siblings. ~ There is no such thing as an ordinary human. ~9th Doctor

A must for any Whovian
I was a little sceptical about this set in the beginning. I mean come on, Lego Doctor Who...? How detailed and accurate could it be?After receiving the set, and subsequently giving it to my 6 yr old whovian son for Christmas, I was amazed when I started to put this together. The mini-figures are freaking amazing. You get 2 Doctors [11 (with turnaround head)&12] both with sonics, Clara, a weeping angel with a turnaround head, and get to build 2 Daleks. The attention to detail was amazing. Right down to the Daleks themselves, the TARDIS, the interior, all spot on. You get a detachable TARDIS that hooks up to the interior control room, the perfect set for any young aspiring Time Lord. The box does say for ages 10 and up. I will say that the build frustrated me at times with all the little pieces, so may not be suitable for tinier fingers. Also took about 40 minutes or more to build, but once together, it is very stable. Even the TARDIS stays locked on to the interior while my son is flying them around the galaxy in all time and space. All around, this is a great set. I am seriously thinking about buying another one to build and keep for myself. A must for any Doctor Who fan.

Great set for Doctor Who fans, young and young at heart.
I purchased this set for my 60 something husband to erect with our lego loving nephew, as they're both Doctor Who fans. It's a great set and my color blind husband loves it, does a few pieces every day. Puzzles are difficult for him but the legos he can distinguish as there aren't many colors and the nearly finished set is very well designed. The tardis opens to reveal some interior details and closes into the iconic police box. The figures include three doctors, a dalek and a weeping angel. I initially thought the price of $79.00 was pretty steep but the recipient was very happy with the gift and he may now be a lego convert.

Another great lego set
Another great lego set. Lots of small pieces to this one. It's a fun build and the police box can either be complete and separate or attached to the console. When it's attached you can see the exit door and it even has the "round things". Also of note the instructions come in a thick book form with a bit of information about the design & designers of the series and the box is nicer than the average lego box. It's my first lego ideas set so it could be a standard box for that. If you love legos and doctor who I'd say this set is a must have. Hopefully more will come.

Highly recommend to any Doctor Who fan
I haven't purchased a Lego set in over a decade but when I heard that Lego was releasing a Doctor Who Lego set it was a must buy. This Lego set comes with the inside of the Tardis, the Tardis itself which can be attached to the inside by removing the top of the Tardis, 2 Daleks, 1 Weeping Angel, Clara, the 11th Doctor, the 12th Doctor, 2 Sonic Screwdrivers, and of course a fez. The set contains 623 pieces. This set comes with a very well detailed instruction manual to build the set. The instructions were mostly easy to follow beyond some of the colors not being vibrant enough to easily tell what pieces were meant to be used. A few extra seconds spent looking at the color will allow you to differentiate which color piece is needed. I spent 1-2 hours building this set but I'm sure it could be built faster if you build with Legos more often than I do.I was missing two pieces for lights in the Tardis Police Box but it wasn't too much of an issue since I was able to use some left over pieces to replace them.Overall this set is very well detailed and deserves to be in every Whovian's collection.

A really fun build with some interesting geometry
This set was a lot of fun to build, with the one tricky bit of getting the railings and the edges of the central console to come together at the correct angles. Also, the instructions illustration for where to clip the steps of the stairs coming off the platform was unclear (whether they went on the top rung of the "ladder" piece and alternated down from there, or started on the rung below). It looks great displayed, and the fact that you can take the TARDIS off, close it, and display it separately is fantastic. One warning... it is almost ALL small parts. I believe EVERY piece is "plate" height (one-third the height of a full brick), and most pieces are one or two studs wide at most. There are a LOT of very small fiddly bits. I would not recommend this for younger children to build.
