Good looks, slightly lower performance
I have been a casual user of 3M’s series 1080 vinyl wrap for unconventional applications since 2007. The photo is of a bicycle fork with matte red RVinyl used to cover chips in the paint. I am pleased with the end result. This is my first time using the product, and I noticed a couple of things:Things I liked:— appearance— air release channelsThings I wish were better:— adhesive is not re-sticksble as many times as the 3M 1080. It becomes noticeably weaker each time it is repositioned.— this affects edge lift and bubble flattening— the film seems thinner and reveals more surface imperfections than the 3M 1080…some of this may have to do with the matte finish— the film does not stretch as well
