This is becoming increasingly more expensive in the supermarket, with some brands costing £5-6 for 500ml. As with many other groceries, buying in bulk is now the most cost-effective option and at just under £12 for 2 litres, this offers good value. I hadn't used Hillfarm for a while and had forgotten that it has quite a distinctive smell compared to my usual Mellow Yellow. Perhaps it's the plastic bottle, but initially it has a nutty odour so I used a funnel to decant it into a glass bottle. After 24 hours the smell is less noticeable and when used for frying it performs the same as any other Rapeseed. I will certainly buy again, and will also consider the larger 5 litre size.

Used in chip fryer, once the oil has been seasoned it’s a great taste
