Pioneertown, USA: The Definitive History of Pioneertown, CA: Where the Old West Lives Again Paperback – March 1, 2018

I actually have a family tie to Pioneertown. Lillian Thompson (aka "Cactus Kate") was my grandaunt. I visited her a couple of times before her passing, and loved to hear her stories of working with Gene Autry, Roy Rogers and all the other people on the crews that worked there on television shows and movies. Of all the books on Pioneertown, this was the best I've found that recounts the history of how Pioneertown came into being. If you are ever in the vicinity of Joshua Tree National Park, it's worth a side trip to go see the place!

I've visited Pioneertown several times and always wondered about the history. Kenneth did a great job of telling the story of the town and area. A great read! And I love the photos.
