I just got this unit so I won't comment about long-term reliability. I chose it because it had a strap rather than a hook, allowing me to lift a wider variety of handles, it included a lighted display (I always seem to end up hoisting my luggage in a dimly lit area) and they threw in the temperature measuring function. Everything worked on delivery once I removed the plastic that kept the included battery from running down. I would have preferred a metal case for durability, but the price and weight were so low that it was too good a deal to pass up. The only negative I can find is that it has switches that are covered by a rubber panel; I expect that this is the area that will be most vulnerable to damage from abuse. Truth to tell, most people won't want to change the setting very often once the unit is set up to their liking, but it does look like the area I'll try and protect the most.

Traveling with luggage has become an expensive proposition especially when it comes to overweight checked bags. With this digital scale in my carry on I was prepared to dispute any incorrect reading on the airlines scale at checkin. This is a easy to use accurate scale.

This is great for getting an accurate reading on luggage when under 40 lbs. I am in my 60's and my problem is when the luggage is close to 50 lbs I can't hold it steady long enough to "lock in". It does give me enough of a idea of the luggage weight without being "locked in" so I will continue to use it this way.

It seems to be serving the purpose quite well. I bought a second one for about 3 dollars cheapoer. But the backlight on this specific model comes in handy at really weird times. I ended up travelling shortly after using it and the scale at the airport showed my package to be about 0.2 lbs lighter than what i assumed it to be. So all in all a good buy. However the build seems to be of a cheaper quality and i do not know how long this one is going to last me.

This is one very useful gadget especially when you like to travel. I travel as often as I can and this scale is very helpful. It is durable too. I bought mine about 4 years ago and it is still functioning perfectly. I have friends that borrow it from me when they so they don't get to pay money for excess luggage.

I bought this scale after paying overweight charges on a previous trip. It is lightweight and very easy to use. The scale fits comfortably in my hand. I like the backlight feature. I believe the scale is very accurate but I never pack right up to the airline 50 pound limit. I always leave a 3 pounds allowance in case the scale is off or if the scale at the airport is inaccurate. Overall I am very satisfied with this product.
