Well made, heavy-duty, extremely clear magnifier, long reach, stays where you put it
This review is intended to help those who, like me, are having difficulty sorting through the seemingly endless choices for magnifying work lights... I got lucky and picked a good one. Yes, it is a more expensive option, but in my opinion, well worth it. The factory packaging was excellent. The product itself is very heavy-duty, and works exactly as represented in the description. Most importantly, the magnifying glass is clear and distortion-free. The reach is extremely good and, at least so far, whatever position you put the light in, it stays there. At first the position of the switch seems a bit awkward, but after a few days of use, it becomes less so. In fact, I think the switch being located on the underside of the light "head," by the lens, is actually sort of intuitive --- when you reach for the head of the light to move it where you want to use it, your hand and fingers sort of naturally close right around where the switch is located. The ability to change the brightness of the light is welcome. Every other desk light I have, or have tried, is permanently on its highest setting. With this Benelux light, I find myself using one of the lower settings quite often. If the price doesn't prohibit it, you can quit scrolling and clicking right now and buy this with confidence. Oh, by the way, be sure to note that this is a "clamp-style" mount, and your desk, work bench, or table will need an overhang where you can clamp the light.

Very nice get this one
First of all I'm a real person and wasn't persuaded in any way. This thing is awesome plain and simple. It's exactly what I want looking for. I can't speak for longevity but it seems well built bright enough and the lens doesn't hurt my eyes it's clear and stable. I love the built in lid and the dimmer and power switch while in a interesting spot on the bottom....it does make sense now while using it. A few suggestions for anyone purchasing this or the makers of this lens. 1. Please make a wall mount that you can purchase with it because my desk can't work with clamps so i had to invent a wall mount. And to anyone purchasing this buy some anti fog spray lol. The first time I used it i was breathing steam sprayed some stuff i have no the lens and problem solved. Other than that. I was looking for about a week and most of the one's for sale made me feel like they were going to be garbage until i researched and people suggested this one. If you don't mind the extra cost i don't think you will be disappointed with this one.

Well Made
I bought one for my shop and was so happy with it I'm getting another one for my desk. Well-made sturdy construction. The 16" arms are longer than most others and give it a great reach, and the internal springs hold it firmly in place even fully horizontal. It does not sag even though it's quite heavy. The glass head adjusts in any direction — up, down, left, right, and twist. The light is nice and bright but can be dimmed if you want. The magnifying image is clear as you would expect and I like the dust cover. The mounting clamp is solid and sturdy but I chose to drill a 1/2" hole in my workbench instead. Either way is fine and nice to have that option. The only glitch was that they sent the wrong lamp at first but Amazon's return system is easy and I had the right one in a couple days. No biggie. I recommend this product.

I spent a LONG time comparing different LED Magnifying Lamps, and picked this one.
I'm one of those OCD types that will spend days or weeks comparing different items when I buy something. Not everything of course, just most stuff. The main reason is so much stuff is just cheap Chinese-made junk that's intended to be disposable after a year or so, and I don't like having to replace stuff I spend good money on. Anyway, this was definitely one of those things I really wanted to compare details and reviews on every available model, and I'm too embarrassed to admit just how much time I actually did spend comparing different swing-arm LED magnifying lamps. But now that I've had it for a few days, I'll list what I like and what I dislike about this one that I chose.I wanted something with a real piece of glass for the lens (rather than a cheap polycarbonate one); that had a minimum lens diameter of 5 inches (I thought 4" would probably be too small, but that's just me); with a cover to keep the dust off of it*; that was dimmable; preferably had 16" arms (rather than 14" or 15"); in black; that had the switch somewhere up at the top (rather than on the cord near the clamp, which is obviously hard to reach if you wish to attach it to the back side of a table/cart/stand/whatever); and was under $100.This Bemelux checked off all those boxes. I also like the fact that there are no external springs to capture dust (after you've had one of these for a few years, you'll appreciate this). This not only has a nice sleek look with no visible springs, but the metal arms feel like they've been painted with quality, baked-on enamel. I don't know if that's what it actually is, but it feels like it, and also has a nice heavy, metal clamp too, so that's not it's not plastic. In other words, I don't see anything on this that looks noticeably cheap at all.As far as the switch location, you can't tell where it is from the photos In fact it's so nondescript that it probably wouldn't show up anyway, even if they did show a photo of it. It's the same color as the underside of the lamp head too, and is only about half an inch square. To turn it on you press the button on the underside of the lamp head... press it once and it'll come on at 100%, press it again and it'll go to 75% brightness, again for 50%, once more for 25%, then again for Off. I would have prefered one with a dial and a separate on/off switch so I could set the brightness as where I wanted and always have it at the same spot whenever I turned it on. But other than this small detail, I really like everything else about this lamp and am really happy with it.I noticed when reading the Details at the bottom of each listing that these LED Magnifying lamps range in the number of lumens emitted from (if I remember correctly) 650 up to 2,200. I wasn't sure how bright any of these would be -- which was another reason why I chose this one, because at 1,200 it was approximately in the middle of the range of all the ones I compared -- and I don't even know how many of these I started out comparing... probably 40 at least. For me, usually I keep it at the 25% setting. But that's just me. At 100%, it's too bright. But then again I don't like brightly-lit rooms anyway. And this is why I only gave the Brightness rating four stars rather than five: It's TOO bright. And I can't turn it down below 25%. But as they say, YMMV.One more thing: This lamp is set at 6000K, I like a white light, not the yellowish-looking incandescent color. 6000K is fine for me, but if you want to be able to change the color temperature, this one won't let you do it. Overall though, I'm really happy with this lamp choice and am happy I spent as much time as I did comparing different makes & models.*: This is a BIG plus. I used to have one of these made of metal with a fluorescent light bulb that was probably made in the 1950s or 60s and lasted forever. The only problem with it was that it didn't have a cover over the glass, and whenever I looked through it (which wasn't that often), there was always a very noticeable amount of dust on the lens, which had to be cleaned off. So take it from someone who had one of these without a cover for many years: Make sure the one you pick has this feature.

Bemelux LED Magnifying Lamp with Clamp, 5 Inch Magnifier Glass Lens
This lamp makes working at a bench a lot easier. The lighted magnifier lens is very helpful in seeing small parts, and the plastic cover helps keep the lens clean. The lamp also has several light intensities depending on user preference.

Quality lamp.
After reading many customer reviews on several models of these magnifier lamps, I chose this lamp. I agree with others' advice to spend a little more: The upgrades in quality are well worth the expense.__Everything works as expected. Nothing loose or "wobbly". Clear, distortion-free viewing.Buy it!D.M. Searle, Houston, TX
