Just Enough Light for the Step I'm On: Trusting God in the Tough Times

I bought this book and did not realize I was buying a treasure. I have since bought 4 additional books as gifts. Stormy is amazing and her prayers are so beautiful. Chapters are short for a thoughtful read and reflection. Of all her books, I have treasured this one the most. The title is perfect. This is a Holy Spirit experience from a woman who is a great daughter. Please buy this book for a life changing experience. I can’t stop reading it over and over.

I am a Stormie Omartian meditator. ALL of her books are spirit-filled readings that have taken me through trials, tribulations, tests, and often loneliness. ANY of her books are an inspiration, this one is no different.

I have just started this book, after putting away my other two books by Stormie Omartian, "Power of a Praying Wife," and "Praying Through the Deeper Issues of Marriage" (now titled "The Power of Prayer to Change Your Marriage.") My circumstances are quite stuck right now in my personal life, and I felt I needed a fresh breath of hope. At this point I am just surfing through the chapters, but did concentrate on Chapter 16, "Traveling Through the Dark Moments of Relationships." There are some good suggestions here but I almost felt her treatment was a little glib when she talks about relationships that are not currently working. While it's great to "let go and let God," sometimes it's really hard. And it can take a long time to realize and accept that perhaps a person will never be restored to your life. It is a process. I would have liked a bit more acknowledgement of the pain that can cause. This book is set up similarly to the other Stormie books I've read: good summaries of the spiritual concept, with specific prayers and helpful scriptures.

If you've ever struggled with family issues, work issues, social issues or just general anxiety, this is a great book for you! I purchased it for a friend at church and she loved it too! Should be a go-to book in your life arsenal!

Excellent. Love this book. So uplifting especially when you're going through a trial. Also makes a great gift for someone else who is facing trials and you want to do something specia for them. This was my first book and I have bought several since then. Thank you Stormie.

Stormie Omartian did it again! This easy-read provided the support I needed in the area of doubt and my need to control everything! I'm reading it for the second time and have purchased copies as gifts.

know this isn't a very helpful review but if I spent the time writing everything that is wrong with this book it would be so long nobody would read it. Go find it at a library if you're curious but don't waste your money.

What a remarkable experience!Ms. Ormartian started so simply that I thought at first I reading a bit of a "fluff" book. I was reading along and I noticed that the challenge to trust God each and every moment of my life was increasing.Then she got to the part about how I must relinquish my dreams to the Lord in order Him to show me His plans. She was not talking about the unrealistic dreams that children have, but the real dreams - the ones that are so "normal" that everyone takes them for granted - until they don't happen or they fall apart. She points out that God may even have the same dreams for me that I have for myself, but in order to truly live them out, I must first be able to give them up with no expectation of achieving them and trust that whatever God brings into my life will be what is best. Ms. Ormartian's candor and honesty made her a fellow struggler rather than a lofty instructor - similar to what Jesus did when he actually lived this life rather than just viewing it from heaven. God brought this book into my life at a time when I most needed it, but there is no time when it will not bless the reader's life. Highest recommendation!!

Really enlightening read. Found one chapter a day enough to read as chapters at end of book covering each chapter individually, so best read at the same time. Food for thought and helpful to look at today, not yesterday which is over, or tomorrow that holds enough troubles of its own but rejoice in today and don’t miss out on what today has to offer.

I bought this book for a friend after borrowing a copy from another friend and loving it. I will buy a copy for myself. Stormy really guides through the difficult times in life and shows you how to move on guided buy the light of Jesus. Lovely prayers to help you get going and bible studies to help you find the right passages to guide you.

This book is amazing, it has helped me a lot with my walk with The Lord.Each section of the book has got some wonderful prayers & backed up scriptures from the bible.I like the way Stormie gives her testimonies in each section, that is so encouraging. I still have not finish the whole book yet, I get drawn to it according to what is happening in my life.The anointing flows from that book. I have bought loads of it to give as gifts to friends & family members.
