Recorded in 1985, this seminal album from Westminster Cathedral Choir and David Hill is a true jewel in the crown. These are among the the first performances in modern times of the divine compositions of Francisco Guerrero and Alonso Lobo, and there is also a Magnificat by Sebastian de Vivanco, a composer barely known even now. These recordings date from the peak of a golden era in the history of this most illustrious of choirs, and have yet to be bettered.

Calming to listen to, well performed
I lost previous copy, but - as this music is so restful and lovely - I needed to get it again. Several Spanish composers (Golden Age of Spain, 16th century?) are represented. I hope others enjoy this music as much as I do.

Stunning classic recording ... hurry and buy it!
A classic recording of Iberian Renaissance polyphony recorded in the 1980s at a peak of this great choir's recording history. All David Hill's recordings on Hyperion from this period of this repertoire (especially his Victoria recordings) have never been bettered. True treasures.
