I’ve been on the lookout for a nice, natural cinchona-based quinine tonic for some years. I’m fond of a G&T and find the proprietary brands of tonic water lack the bitterness they once had due to the decreasing amounts of quinine that are added these days compared to years ago. And I also like to drink a glass of tonic water each day as I find it both refreshing and beneficial. Having tried many brands over the years I thought I would take a chance on this Little-known KOFI TI natural tonic syrup from Romania and I was not disappointed. This really tastes amazing - bitter sweet as it should be - and I believe I may have found the tonic I’ve been searching for. Simply dilute one part syrup to seven parts sparkling seater and you have the most beautiful tonic water you could ask for. Gorgeous rusty/amber In colour and made from real cinchona bark using a cold press method, I really don’t think you will find a nicer tonic syrup anywhere And no artificial colourings or flavourings. I’ve just ordered another bottle. Very highly recommend.

It tasted OK but it made a murky tonic. The resulting gin and tonic looked sludgy and visually unappealing. My wife couldn't get past it. Shame.

This does feel like a good tonic. It's very dark, which makes it look like you're drinking something exotic.You can really taste the sugar cane in this, and the quinine is prominent, yet not too strong. I didn't try it, but it feels like you could use it in a rum, not just a gin.Overall, a little sweet for me, but an interesting change from the supermarket specials.Remember to keep it in the fridge.The only thing preventing me from buying it repeatedly is the price.For those with Sodastreams - don't try mix it in the bottle, boy is it fizzy! Add to gin, pour soda water over it, carefully.

Could not get a regular tonic water taste from this - perhaps we are too much used to supermarket variety.

This tastes great, but unfortunately the dilution ratio makes it unsuitable for use with a soda stream.

I usually buy Aromhuset Zero Sugar Indian Tonic Soda Syrup via Amazon but got a 'Not in stock and we don't know when it'll be back' message last time. So I bought this. Well impressed with the packaging. Cardboard shaped outer with a void space to protect from impacts. The syrup is just water, cinchone (quinine tree) bark extract, raw cane sugar & citric acid. Nice. The bottle is glass with an aluminium screw cap . And there's the problem. The cap is the usual security type where when on opening it separates from the lower ring with a snapping of the tiny strands. Only it doesn't. The strands don't break. My remedy is to cut the strands by running a craft knife around the groove. Which works more or less, but opening a sticky syrup bottle this way is both risky and potentially very messy -LOSE 2 STARs. Back to Aromhuset for me.

Although I hesitated to purchase this because it seems expensive I am pleased with it as it is a natural product and has none of the artificial flavours of other tonic water previously tried. Bought as an alternative to quinine 😉I diluted it with sparkling water and it makes a refreshing drink, I don't drink gin but I expect it will be lovely as a mixer for G&T.Because it has no artificial sweeteners it has sugar which is not a problem as so little is needed for dilution. The bottle will last for a long time depending on use or how much you enjoy it!
