How good is the clock at picking up msf signal (many radio controlled clocks i find have difficulty picking up radio signal in southern england)?

I live in Hertfordshire and it took a noticeable while for the clock to respond and show the right time. I am guessing this is some thing to do with the clock waiting for a particular and possibly infrequent signal from the the transmitter.

Is this clock silent or does it tick?

We haven’t noticed an audible tick; however it is in the kitchen where there is a background of low level appliance noise. Whether it would be truly silent in, for example, a bedroom I couldn’t say. In general though I recommend it. It’s well made, found the signal without problem, and does what it says on the tin.

Is this suitable for outdoors?

Not waterproof, out side will work but must be mounted at dry place , no rain
