Pocket Spanish Grammar (Barron's Grammar) (Spanish Edition)

a great companion guidebook when learning spanish. very dense read but i believe you’ll always be able to use this grammar book as a reference guide.

A very useful reference

Perfect for quickly getting eyes on half remembered grammar rules. Travel size book is a big help.

I own the 3rd edition which is missing the information- lesson on “ser”; therefore, I assumed the 4th edition would include “SER.” No!! Authors,Dr C Kendrick and Dr T Kendrick, did not correct their mistake from edition 3. Also, Barron must bear blame . So disappointing. “Estar” is there alone.

This is the best Spanish grammar reference ever written. So why did I give it one star? because it comes with the absolute worst, cheapest binding as well, I walked around a bookstore flipping through it for about 5 minutes and pages were already starting to fall out. I figured it was a bad glue job on the binding so went and picked up another one, and same thing happened, I opened it to the middle pages and the binding immediately cracked and about 40 of the pages fell out in a chunk. Barron's writes good stuff, they're just too cheap to actually produce it in a way that will last. if you do decide to order it, I'd say buy about five copies of it because you're going to be going through one every few days.

This is exactly what I needed: a real reference book. All other grammar books I was looking at always included exercises which is not really their place in a reference book.As for some people who somehow complain that "Ser" vs. "Estar" is not included...look at the photos. There's a whole section about it.

A good and convenient revision tool but perhaps not a textbook.
