Great for learning to mermaid swim!
The shape of the fin doesn’t match most mermaid tails, but it’s a wonderful beginner fin for learning to mermaid swim. It was recommended to me and I was also told the linden fin shape (think standard mermaid tail) takes a bit more strength to control properly.Because this fin is made with soft edges it’s safe to use in swimming pools with other people nearby (though please still be respectful and try not to hit other people with it). Some other fins are stiffer with sharp edges and could hurt other people if they got hit with it. Think about your swimming environment when choosing the right fin for your needs, as well as your swimming level. This is a great fin for getting started.I wear mine with neoprene socks to avoid the possibility of blisters, plus my sock have grip bottoms so when I’m not wearing the fin and walking on wet tile I don’t have to worry so much about slipping.

Monofin sizes
I ordered this monofin for my son to help him with his dolphin kicking technique used in various strokes that he competes in. I was rather hesitant to place the order because there was NO size chart which made this pricey purchase somewhat ambiguous which is what held me up from ordering it months earlier. I literally held my breath. Fortunately, the material was very soft and pliable and he was able to stretch the material to fit his size 11 feet comfortably. The product seems to function as designed. Just wanted to include a size chart so others would be able to reference which sizes were covered within the ranges listed.

Great and comfortable monofin
Love the soft material and foot pockets.People have said that you should size up when ordering this fin because Foil’s foot size chart was a bit off. As I looked at their chart, I saw that I was a small, but since people have recommended to size up, I did. I got a medium instead of a small and I would say a medium fits just right on me. I have no problems swimming in it, so maybe when you want to order this fin, I think it wouldn’t hurt sizing up. It doesn’t give be blisters at all. It is very comfortable to swim in, like I mean really comfortable. I absolutely love it.People also say that they had some tears by their foot pockets, I haven’t had that yet, since mine is a new fin but I’m sure with more use, that will happen. I also think the price is just right for this type of fin.Update 2022: so it has been 3 years since I got the Monofin and let me tell you how great it still performs! No tears, though a few “usage/stretchings are visible but still fits my feetAll in all, great fin, and would definitely recommend buying it.

Perfect for Butterfly Stroke correction
I bought these at the advice of a swimmer who mostly swam butterfly competitively. I was talking to him about my issue with dolphin kicking and he said “get yourself a mono fin so you can work on leg timing”.Sure enough: I put the monofin on for the first time and noticed my right leg always wanted to power more than my left causing a rotational imbalance. After about 1 month my legs started to evenly kick with no over rotations. Currently I am happy I say I brought my butterfly down from 20 seconds with a fin to 13.9 seconds with a fin on the 25 yard. I can also now do the butterfly with no fins at 22 seconds for a 25 yard length. Not that fast yet, definitely seeing improvement though. I recommend this for anyone trying to fix their dolphin kick.Last, for my free style dolphin off the wall this has also helped tremendously.

I can swim though and this makes for a gloriously fun way to work all the major muscle groups
I have fibromyalgia and joint Hypermobility syndrome, so high impact sports are out. I can swim though and this makes for a gloriously fun way to work all the major muscle groups. Talk with your doctor first though if you have any ankle, knee, hip or back problem, this could exacerbate it because of the dolphin kick motion it requires. Did my first swim with my future free dive buddy and was very impressed with the fluid push of the fin. It was easy to find the motions for foreword but I highly recommend in pool practice on back swimming or just maintaining position as it's very different then one would expect. And better to learn in a safe place than open water. I wear mine with a pair of 3mm neoprene socks and only complaint is I can't kick out without using a hand to help. May be easier with thinner water socks.

Hard to find a comfortable fit due to construction.
I really like the way this fin swims, but I can't wear it for more than a few minutes before it hurts so badly that I must take it off to avoid blisters. I have tried 2 sizes, medium and large, but perhaps an extra size larger and some neoprene socks would help. The problem I have had is in the toe area, where the toe hole is cut out with a razor blade during production, which leaves a sharp edge where the toes poke through, and rubs badly. My normal fins have a longer toe pocket that the toes do not poke through, and I have no comfort issues with almost any other regular fin I have tried.I really wanted this to work, as the core engagement I get with this monofin is great exercise, and different from my usual swimming. It seems very efficient underwater, speed feels good, and I can go a greater distance on one breath, it seems. It's also easier to control for a beginner than other monofins I have tried, and is not likely to injure anything you're swimming with, or yourself, due to the soft rubber construction.
