I have a 1961 mobile home constructed with aluminum wiring. This is a perfect replacement receptacle used so a fire does not possibly take place. Only one location in San Diego had these and saved me a 40 mile round trip having this available. Comes with new hardware. This is great and works.

Purchased this receptacle to replace a worn outlet in my kitchen that would no longer make reliable contact with plug-in appliances. My kitchen is wired with aluminum and not copper which is more common. The Leviton receptacle is marked as approved for both copper and aluminum. There is no color distinction in the metal screws to indicate which side of the receptacle receives the hot wire (black). The correct side for hot is marked on the back. A guage showing how far to strip back the wire insulation is marked on the back. This is most important when using aluminum wire which requires a greater contact surface than is necessary for copper.I would recomment this product as a top choice when using aluminum wire. It would not be my first choice for outlets using copper wire.

Thought there was more than just one in the purchase. Item didn't specify quantity. Lowes and Home depot have them for $3.00

as described product. however, it was overpriced compared to the large retail hardware stores. But I needed it mid-week and could not get out to a store in time.
