Be patient, these are good!
We were having such fun growing ginger rhizomes we figured "why not turmeric?" We ordered these even though a lot of the reviews seem to complain about the quality, but they arrived in a sealed bag, there were a TON of them, and even though most of the "eyes" were off, I placed half of the bag in this long pot w/ some basic "container soil"… and then just put it outside. I tend to have good luck with plants and seeds when I "set and forget", lol, instead of being overly precious and doting. It took a while, probably 4 weeks, but through a pretty hot late-spring and early-summer, lo and behold, it started sprouting. I would say 90% success! We got a lot of rain this year, so the soil was more wet than not…but I did let it dry out a couple times, naturally. Anyways, we are excited to harvest these in a few months! And the plant itself is very pleasing & tropical. Contrasts nicely with other bushes in the yard, and our other porch potted plants. I'll probably end up planting some in the yard, and keep some in pots!

Zero growth-total waste of time
I bought it in February (I live in the deep south) and planted it in a large pot, protected it from any cold and it has never sprouted. Not one sprout. It's almost like it was from a grocery store and sprayed so it doesn't sprout. I could have bought some in the grocery store and got the same results. This was a total waste of money and effort.

Lots of rhizomes
The product arrived looking very fresh....and a number of smaller pieces rather than large ones. I tried growing turmeric before and nothing happened so want to give it another try. Also, I make fire cider and needed some fresh for that as well....and this is perfect for a batch of that and plenty left to plant. So fingers crossed I get it right this time....but these looks to be nice and healthy and should grow.

Grew Really Fast
I planted these roots last spring and they sprouted quickly.

Disappointed
I planted this product the same time, in the same conditions as I planted ginger, also from Amazon. One example of the ginger is growing at 3” tall, none of the examples of this product have shown any signs of life. I feel the product was defective.

Looked great but...
The turmeric looked beautiful, absolutely beautiful but for some reason it never took sprout. Very saddened over this.I've grown turmeric before and had great success. I don't know what wrong With this batch, I did everything I normally do but I just did not sprout. I even dug up a few to look and see if there was a node starting and nothing and it's been enough time for it to sprout. I don't know if seller will replace, I have not asked him. I just can't for the life of me figure what went wrong.

Node spots cut off, tumeric need the node spots to sprout.
THE TUMERIC IS FRESH, GREAT TO USE FOR YOUR REMEDIES. BUT IT HAD NO ROOTS. I BOUGHT IT FOR PLANTING. THE PICTURE SHOWS MANY ROOTED TUBERS. I HAVE DECIDED TO USE FOR REMEDY. THE SIZE IS EXELLENT. I WILL NOT RETURN BECAUSE I BELIEVE IT WILL NOT ARRIVE IN THE SAME EXCELLENT VERY FRESH CONDITION.
