Kimono Japan Women's Easy Yukata Robe

This is a lovely kimono and unlike many that I've tried before, it's actually the right length for me. (At 5'2" I'm fairly short even by standard kimono measurements.). Unfortunately, after being washed and put on, the kimono is no longer big enough to wrap around my 44" size 16 hips and stay closed in the front when I sit down. (Yes, I do know how to put on a kimono properly, that's not the problem.) I really want to replace the 15 year old kimono I bought in Japan and have worn to shreds. Sadly this one is going to have to be passed on to someone else.Hey seller, is there any chance that this or another of your kimono patterns is available with more width? I know that japanese market doesn't need it, but I'm sure there are other westerners like myself who would love it if the measurement guides on Amazon showed how to choose the right size for both your height and your width.

Love it!! I got this as a birthday gift. It was shipped extremely fast from Japan and arrived within a few days. I got the Large solely for the length as I am 5'9". I usually wear a 10/12. When it first arrived I thought it was a little too big BUT since it's being used as a robe (which is what a yukata is used for), I figured no biggie. I washed it and it did shrink some, after all it is cotton. But it shrank perfectly for me and I didn't lose any of the length! The only negative, if even that, is the belt is a little short - it would have been perfect if it was, perhaps, another 6" longer. BUT still ties well. The yukata is very nice comfortable.

This is a beautiful kimono and great quality but it ran a bit small so I need to add a button near the crotch area so it doesn't open when I walk. I used a safety pin to close it in the meantime and that works for now.

All good-quality cotton, well-made, beautiful, arrived very quickly -- and is smaller than expected through the chest and waist and below the waist, to the point that I have to hold the front of the robe closed with my hand because it doesn't cover me adequately. If I'd order this again I'd order one size bigger, or maybe even two sizes bigger.

This robe is such a treat! The blue print is really beautiful, the cotton fabric is soft and feels like it is good quality (haven't washed it yet, but have high expectations.) The fit is generous - I can wrap it enough that I am not worried about anything peeking out when I sit, bend or whatever. It is also plenty long, I am 5' 7" and robes are usually a bit short on me. It arrived surprisingly quickly, and I am very happy with my purchase!

Beautiful!!! Ordered on 3/21/2015 - expected it to take a couple of weeks if not more to receive it - after all coming from Japan - received it today!!! 3/25/2015. It is exactly the way the picture looked - customer service is GREAT!! Will definitely buy more from this wonderful company!!!!

Just as expected. It gets softer within a few washes. Light and easy to pack. I get one every 3-5 years and wear it almost daily.

Pattern was nice, the cotton material was comfortable, and the style was what i was looking for. The con is that it is a little too long and i am 5 ft 8 inches. It would also have been better if the belt came attached or if there was belt loops to have the convenience of tying it

Love, love, LOVE this kimono. It exceeded my expectations! The fit is perfect. I was worried the sleeves would be too long but they hit mid forearm which is ideal. The print is lovely and it is well made; it is a very elegant robe. I plan on buying two more like it in different prints for my sister and mother!

Absolutely beautiful and as described. I am relatively small and it fits me as it "should", but I definitely understand why average/larger Westerners may find it too narrow, as it's only the length that increases with the size. It may be to the seller's advantage to offer wider sizes for the Western market.
