Was kind of expecting a thin piece of metal. It’s definitely not thin. You could use it to defend yourself if needed. I don’t recommend that—it’d be an unfortunate situation for both you AND your assailant. It’s very substantial. Order 10,000 of them and build yourself a bunker on par with the Bat Cave. The blank space in your studio rack will be as impressive as the spaces filled with expensive equipment.

High quality product, made of thick steel, cut to right size...not sure what else you're looking for in a blank rack panel, but this does everything I hoped it would do at a good price.

Blank piece of powder coated metal. How do you go wrong? It blanked the blankety blank out of my blank places.

It's a well priced 3U blank that is also handy for stabilizing a taller rack by putting in the middle on the back if the rack is missing such a part.It's solid so helps contain air if you are using fan cooling and trying to build a cooling chimney effect.

1st off I will say the plate is built very well and much thicker steel than i imagined it would be. My only gripe is the color. Its not a standard black like the rest of my equipment. This color is a dark grey.

This item may cost a little bit more than purchasing from Monoprice but it is okay. Also, it fits 19" racks perfectly and fits well within 1U of space. It definitely helps keep the racks looking clean. I have mine sitting above a Cyberpower surge protector to give it some space since it is near impossible to plug something in with the cable tray attached to the back. However, I wish the texture and paint was a little different for the blank panel. All our switches are a matte black and this is almost a gloss textured black. But not a big deal.

This 1 u blank panel works perfectly for what I needed it for. It helps to keep airflow going into the front of the servers, and keeps our rack in our office looking much nicer. This is a great product at a great price

Good solid blank plate

Rack mount plates are supposed to be flat black. This is super glossy with so much paint on it, the orange peel effect from the paint puts an actual orange to shame for texture. Going to send it back and eat the shipping cost, while I order a proper looking blank.First time I've been disappointed with monoprice products :(

I mean it’s a blank metal panel, it’s pretty hard to fail at it, so they didn’t, good job on making a metal panel that covers a hole.

Surprise, it's a black piece of metal you screw into a rack. Paint looks great, it is exactly what you think it is.
