I don't know what the limit is, but I have 3 on a door that weighs around 125 lbs. Even 2 hinges seem to handle it fine

How thick is the plate on the hinge?

Without putting a tape on it, I’d say close to 3/16”. I hung a double Dutch door weighing close to 200lbs. They are great hinges.
