Pump is for a small fishpond which gets very dirty., so I have installed a "biological filter" (whatever that means). It has foam membranes and also curly pieces of plastic underneath them. So I believe you don't want a very fast flow, the bacteria will need time to work. The filter is very effective - over time, it takes out an enormous amount of gunge.Have had two previous pumps over ten years, would buy same model but of course they don't exist now.Had to choose another, and there's loads on Amazon., finished up picking this Barst model.Tiny pump arrived. When fitted, the flow is much better than I was expecting. (Not much head from pond surface to filter though).. Previous pumps had foam filters but this model has only a coarse plastic screen, so I made a nylon mesh bag to cover it. Time will tell if it's enough to protect the pump.The instructions are absolutely appalling and I'd say useless. Obviously there's not much you need to know, but it's not at all clear that the inlet screen is adjustable presumably to control the flow. To get to the impeller to clean it, you have to flirt-off the end cover which is not at all obvious. These pumps all seem to have 3-core cable but it's a mystery to me why they need to be earthed as they're totally encapsulated in waterproof plastic. The fuse fitted in the mains plug is 13A - should really be 3A at the most. Anyway, the pond water seems to be getting clearer and the fish look happy.

Good little pump with just enough power to get the flow right for our aquarium filter. Also compact in size. Seems reasonably quiet hopefully it will last but only time will tell? Good value for money.

The media could not be loaded. Brilliant bit of kit, would have got 5 stars with a longer cable. Bought for a small “wildlife” pond, keep the water moving, does what it needs to do!

This is a brilliant little pump. Noting this is 240v pump no transformer, it reinvigorated on old water feature. This lifts a nice stream of water about 1.3m and has a flow rate control.Would recommend..:

The media could not be loaded. Upgrading from a smaller pump that just trickled. The pump works well but the noise is too much.meant to be able to hear the water but can't get over the motor. As my Son says it sounds like a hot tub. I guess I need a smaller one.

This came with adaptors to suit various tubing sizes - very useful. Plenty of cable to put through the wall and plug into a power socket. Why the cable needs to be so massive is a mystery, though!

Very good water pump. Much better than others I have bought over the years. Good water flow but cable far too short!!!
