Q: I lost fire starter can i get a new one, how much.

I don't think that Schrade specifically sells replacements for this axe, but on taylorbrandsllc.com, in schrade accessories, they do sell a large piece of fire steel for $7. I don't know if it fits this axe.

Q: is it going to come with the nylon sheath in the future

Mine came with a sheath. I use a "Not for climbing" clip to quickly move it from my pack to belt and back as necessary. So far sheath has held up better than i thought it would.

Q: how can i be sure im getting the new version with the upgraded handle?

The seller will have to provide the exact part number for the product.

Q: Can this hammer head actually endure hitting on metal ? i have read schrade scaxe10 11.1in does not...

Depends on the nature ov "hitting on metal" it's meant to drive tent stakes, but the head is all solid, blade to waffle. I would suspect the (plastic?) handle would be the first thing to go if you were really getting down on destroying say, a car.
