Ugly Stik Elite Salmon/Steelhead Casting Fishing Rod

Been using Ugly Sticks for ever, good pole for large and smaller fish. They have good sensitivity, strong and gets the job done and can't beat the price very happy.

Toughness of an ugly stick - i use it for catfish at the dam, and saltwater surf and pier fishing. Feels good and works well.

Always been a fan of Ugly Stik. I used to get their Ugly Stik Lite series because I really prefer cork handles. Their Elite series is very similar, but the action seems to be a little better. The build and material quality on this rod make it feel like you are using one that costs $200-300. I bought the 9ft version, and it is perfect for trolling in a boat with multiple people. It allows you to get your line out further than others so as not to get tangled. The only downside to a rod this long is that it is more difficult to cast and harder to handle a fish when you get it to the boat. Not detractors for this specific rod, just general comments on longer rods.

I got two of these rods for salmon fishing. They are less expensive than most and extremely durable. I love them. Work well,fish in the box.

I ordered one of these poles, and in the description it says that there are 2 pieces. I got one of these poles and only received the bottom half and was missing a piece.

Rods ok but quality has changed a lot over the years. They charge more for less quality.

I payed for express shipping And received ONLY the Bottom half of the fishing rod. Furthermore it was not wrapped at all with anything so I’m very surprised the bottom half arrived in tact. I’m EXTREMELY dissatisfied, the fishing season is winding down and I’m afraid by the time I send it back and they ship me out another there may be very little time left for me to even use it this year. It’s be great if they could ship me out the TOP half of the rod (xheavy 9 foot 2 piece) as soon as humanly possible Edit: I found another rod that looked like it would be stronger and have ordered it instead. Although amazon was in the process of sending me another one I decided to just ask for a refund instead because based on the appearance of the butt end of the rod in comparing it with some of my other rods I have serious doubts it will cast the 3 oz lures it advertises.

I bought two of these - 8'6 and 10' - both for salmon fishing. The build quality disappointed me as both rods had the same issue - the sections do not fit each other well and when you "wobble" the rod you can even hear the butt of the top section hit the inner side surface of the bottom section. Kind of gives you unpleasant feeling of the whole thing being "non-monolithic". I managed to partially resolve the problem by removing excessive dry lacquer from the inside of the bottom section but the problem still persists no matter how tight I insert the top section. Also, the guides are not perfectly aligned.
