Initial Impressions Excellent
Just got it about an hour ago. Stress-free packaging, and the case snapped on with impressive quickness and a perfect, snug fit. Looks great and though, yeah, it adds a bit of bulk, it really doesn't add enough additional weight to be a problem for me in the least. It does add some weight though, but it's a worthy trade-off for the protection it offers. It also does nothing to hinder the use of the type cover at all and the material has a nice, easily gripped, quality feel to it. You do need to make sure you open the stand to its maximum before setting it down in portrait orientation. If you don't, the device is easily tipped over. The pen will still magnetically stick to the left side of the device, but I actually find the pen holder on top of the case is much more secure and it's highly unlikely to get accidentally knocked off as you're say, sliding it into a bag or a sleeve. The little tab on the upper right corner is attached to an elastic cord and is used to keep the type cover from falling open. Seems a little unnecessary, but it's thoughtful at least. Regarding protection, this case offers excellent edge protection all the way around the device, and the reinforced corners are a big asset (the most dangerous drops are those where the device lands on a corner). Someone mentioned that they were worried about dropping it screen-first, but if it's dropped on a perfectly flat surface, and on the one-in-thousands of a chance that it falls perfectly flat, it would be fine; the screen itself would never touch the ground. If it was dropped on a surface that was not flat, say there was a bulge or something and the screen hit that, well, there isn't any kind of case that's really going to mitigate that. Anyway, the chance of it falling and landing perfectly flat is so small as to be an insignificant concern in my opinion. Another drawback mentioned by some is that, with the case on, the power plug can only be connected in one orientation. Not so, it attaches just fine in both orientations. The manufacturer had the forethought to add beveled grooves above and below the power connector that accommodate the cord and keep it from hindering the plug from staying in. Works fine for me. Finally, a couple of reviewers said they feel like the stand is going to break because of the hard clicks you get when opening it out. While I agree it's a nice, loud click, I studied the mechanism before installing the case, and the way it's made, it seems highly unlikely that you'll break it from opening and closing it. I can see how it might be a concern for some folks though. So, overall, I think this is the best protective case I've ever used on any tablet I've ever owned, and also one of the most stylish. I'm completely confident that it will protect the significant investment I have made in the Surface Pro 4 and look pretty darned good doing it, and I would not hesitate to either recommend it or buy it again.

Absolutely a TOP NOTCH case all around! I have read some of the other reviews and the truth is no matter how hard some try - ya can't make everyone happy. Bottom line the Urban Armor Gear Case is a rugged, solid case that provides good protection for the Surface Pro 4 Tablet. The Pros - Fits Great - it isn't as hard to slide the SP4 into the case as some would have you believe, and when its time to remove it, just use pressure on the correct places and it POPs right out. There is no danger to damaging the Gorilla Glass on the SP4 unless you are using a screwdriver or pocket knife. ***** Pro cont. - The Pen holder is excellent and fits the SP4 Pen snugly into place. Little chance of losing it and it actually holds onto the pen if you place it into a carrying bag etc. Pro cont. - The upper right TypeCover elastic band is OK - its a nice thought and will do it's job, but as others have said - it will eventually break. The CONS - Booo! The downside for SP4 i7 users is the ventilation - While mine has yet to overheat - I can see that on a warm day or in elevated temps, the case itself and the poor ventilation will most likely lead to possible overheating. In which case - the case will come right off. The CONS cont. - The kickstand blows! I mean really - for this price I would expect something a little more stable, quite and overall a much more professional job. Overall - Its a great case and will provide a much needed layer of protection for your device. Its like an slightly downgraded Otterbox for the SP4.

This case works very well in protecting my surface. I have used it in many military settings and it has done a great job! rugged and protects well is why I got it and it does just that. It does add a decent amount of size and prevents the back stand from working on the actual laptop. For me the protection was worth it. Design looks great and I love the grip on the back as well as the keyboard holder at the top right. Pen holder keeps the surface pen on just fine and all the ports are still accessible. Issues other reviews have brought up: The stand is noisy when you open it: if you apply a little pressure as you open it it is not as loud and I do not find it to be a problem in class and in meetings. Its more a clicking sound, but everyone understands you need the stand to use the laptop so it never has been brought up. The screen cracks when you take the case off: I have only taken the case off two times to get the serial number off the back of my surface and it has not cracked my screen and not too much pressure was required to get the case off. I could not see how you could break the screen unless you were pressing directly on the touch interface. you can see a little pressure is applied to the screen but nothing much. Overall, the case is fantastic and has held up well. I would recommend it!

If you are a person who likes to dress his/her gadget tough then UAG is the brand that you have to turn to The fit is snug and perfect. All ports are accessible and the cooling windows and not blocked Gives additional confidence in handling the surface pro Only issue is we cannot lay the surface as flat as we can when we used it’s own surface stand The stand which comes along the case hardly goes from 0 deg to 120 deg approx Surface stand goes almost to 170 deg which makes writing so easy. The surface keyboard retention string is not very well designed or thought off. It does the job but not in typical UAG style. I would expect another thin case for surface keyboard which will magnetically get attached to main case

I had bought Surface pro 4 for my father, as he travels often. After i bought it, my dad was scared to use it. He said and I quote" Harsh, this machine is beautiful but i feel that its very delicate and i will end up breaking it" I wanted him to use Surface pro 4 for everything. After lot of research I found this UAG tablet case. Lot of Tech Youtubers have said great things about this product. You can search on youtube- and watch great review videos on it. My first hand experience:: I can say that my dad feels a lot confident now while using the Tab. He is no more scared. He said- the product is great, does the job and finally he is happily using it. Pros: 1. Military grade 2. Recognised as the best brand for protection gear for your gadgets all over the world. 3. Military standard and tests passed 4. Various stand options both vertical and horizontal 5. Stable stand and robust material Cons: 1. Looks. Its not the best looking case for your tab- but its the best functional & protection case for your tab. May be UAG can bring good looking version next time. Currently I am very happy with my purchase. 2. Weight: It does add a weight to your machine. But with such great protection ,we have to let go of the light weight feature of surface pro 4. I would recommend it to people who are worried that : 1. My laptop would fall 2. It will get scratches at the back 3. The back stand is not stable All the above worries will be taken care off.
