Bolt is plastic. Not as advertised.
This is really cheap. I want something that will last. The description of this "National Hardware N155-762 V862 Reversible Chain Bolt in Brass,3 Inch" never states the bolt (the most critical part) is plastic. Plastic NEVER lasts. Am returning asap. My next attempt will be a "STANLEY 75-7031 Satin Brass Chain Bolt, 3". This one -appears- to have a metal bolt.

Waste of money!
As other reviewers have stated this is cheap junk. A plastic latch for a door lock? I will be able to make some use of it, but only because it is not the primary security for this portal. I can do better than this.

This is an item I had problems finding. Just pay attention to how it is advertised, product is described as hinges.

Kinda cheap junk really.
Cheaper built than it looks. I don't recall what I paid for these, but think $3-4 Chinese parts. Bolt (and this bolt taper) is pretty shallow too, so don't expect it to be a bolt that closes by pushing a door closed. It could happen, but the tolerance will have to be very exacting.

Light duty only.
Not the most sturdy piece of hardware I have bought but it does do the job. Not something that you would want on show in a prominent place.

Not for security use
Came with two types of striker plates. Will work in most applications. Plunger is plastic. I have to pull chain to latch. Not for security use
