I received my item in a plastic jug vs the photos seen with the cans. Still 75W from Toyota. Just wondering if others have gotten this container?

This fluid comes in metal cans from Toyota.

Can I use differential fluid for the transfer case ? as they have the same recommended viscosity as on the owners manual.

You probably can...... But I wouldn't take a chance. Spend the extra money an buy the correct fluid designed for the transfer case. Just one man's opinion.

It was the recommended fluid for my 2014 4x4 with locker. Should be the same for your 08.

Your manual says for above 0 Farenheit use SAE 90, or 80w-90. (99% of population of the world live moslty above 0). Is this oil too thin?

I went to the dealership (stevinson east in Aurora colo) to buy this ridiculously- priced product. And they offered me Valvoline 80-90. Said they put that in all differentials and transfer cases. I declined and bought the expensive stuff online, just because I bought my 4-Runner new and intend to drove it till Armaggedon. But Toyota should be ashamed for charging that for a quart of oil. So my local dealer considers the difference between 75 and 80 meaningless.
