Great product! Keeps my chinchilla entertained during playtime. She loves it. It is safe for chinchillas being made of metal and given that the edges are not sharp. Good quality and seems like it will last a long time. Pricey, but worth the money. No assembly required. You literally just take it out of the box and it's ready to use. The bottom level folds in and so it's smaller for storage. It's definitely large though, so just be aware of that when you buy it. The holes are large enough for my chunky girl to fit through with no problem.

We've gone through a variety of cheap wood houses, expensive wood houses, DIY attempts to make chew proof wood houses.... We have some anti-chew rings to put in the doors of some of the houses but the sizing and attachment is tricky. Plastic is an absolute no when it comes to chinchillas. They will destroy it fast and could swallow some. PVC pipe works somewhat without getting enough off to ingest a dangerous amount but they chew that down after awhile. They even destroy softer metals like aluminum wheels we had. They ripped the rim off and cut themselves on it after a few months.A month later you can see a few scrapes on the edges of this house where the destructive trio testing it out has tried to chew it. I was also worried about seams since we've had toes get caught in little gaps on metal feeders or similar but this appears completely smooth with no problems so far. Eventually I suppose they might scrape it enough to allow some rust or discoloration but it would take years and we might be able to coat it in something if that happens. I don't see them ever destroying it enough it no longer functions as a hide or that they will be able to hurt themselves on it.It is a bit on the small side. I wish I could find something between this small one and the really large one the company makes. It's a tight fit for even 2 chinchillas. A squarer shaped house instead of the triangle would also be an improvement and rectangles are more commonly used for good chinchilla housing. Usually only the cheapest wood ones have this shape, which made me more hesitant to try it. Given how long it lasts though and how long it sometimes takes us to getting around to replacing all our dozen chinchilla houses and hides the only real downside is the price.

I debated buying this for a while due to the price and finally just went for it. I am so glad I did. My girls love it! They zoom in and out of all the openings, bring toys inside to chew, one of them even likes to use the roof as a slide. It is quite large so I keep it outside their cage for playtime. If you're going to put it inside a cage be sure to measure! My chinchillas have smaller wooden hides in their cage that fit better and promote chewing.This house will last for a long, long time. It is well made, easy to clean and chinchilla approved!

The media could not be loaded. I will start with I have five fluffbutts in the cage and there isn’t a day which goes by ever. Single. One. Of them are in it or on it at the same time durning the day. It’s lovely. Easy to clean. No smell. Plenty of room for each chinchilla to lay comfortably. It’s even visually appealing. I WILL buy another for their upper level soon. I love it. 10/10 recommend

I didn't think my boys would much like this, boy was I wrong. Immediately my chinchilla squad ran into it, and to this day (year later), it is still their number one place to be. Tazzy likes to stick his chinchilla head and hands out of the hole on the side of the house, his warm little rodent hands *have* worn off the side finishing and it is now discolored, but that is such a minor detail, that I won't rate it any lower because of that. It is 100% chinchilla safe and it is easy to clean, though I find my boys won't pee in it and will disrupt their slumber in order to pee outside of their house. 10/10, plus it is a nice cool place for them to stay as well.

This house is perfect for chinchillas, it's metal so they won't chew it and it stays cool so they can cool off in it. Perfect size too, even my fat 1kg chinchilla fits easily! Definitely recommend.

That’s an obvious title I’m sure. considering it is made out of metal. That’s really the biggest selling point in this item. We have two male chinchillas and they just chew the hell out of everything. Our ledges are nibbled down to nubs. We have a KAYTEE double, natural wood hide. That one I really love but they’ve gnawed it to bits so we opted for this one. ( please do NOT buy anything plastic for your chinchilla’s cage, they will chew it and it’s really harmful even deadly) Metal being the other option after wood. The problem For us was that the chinchillas just didn’t really take to it and it looks out Of place with the rest of the things in our set up. So we had to send it back but there is no problem with the item itself… it’s well-made and sturdy.

Highly recommend going to be buying a 2nd. This is huge
