I really wanted a vest for this winter. I drive a truck, so I wanted something durable with enough pockets, and a hood. The only way this could have been better is if it had a concealed carry holster, but that's ok.I was really hesitant after reading the reviews. People talked about how the quality was way lower than what it used to be, and perhaps it is. But for under $100, you can't go wrong with this. I've been wearing it every day for a couple months now and I can't believe I've gone this long without it.The lining plus the shell provide good core heat-retention, but the arm holes allow venting. For the colder days, I also wore a thin quilted vest inside and it was just the prefect balance between keeping me warm but not making me too hot.The zipper is solid and feels like it will last longer than the rest of it, but the shell and even the fleece lining all feel like what I would expect from a Carhartt product. The fact that the Carhartt emblem is no longer leather is not something I'm fretting over as enjoy this product.There is a zippered, side access pocket on the front and inside of the left breast. There is a velcroed pouch on the inside under the right breast, and there are standard, roomy side pockets where your hands go. None of the pockets or zippers feel cheap.I usually prefer black everything but decided to get the grey so my dandruff didn't show up as bad since jackets and jacket-type garments don't get washed daily like clothes. I was a little worried after I ordered it because in some pictures it looked light grey which I didn't want (I have a dirty job after all), but when it came in, it was exactly the color I had hoped for.I bought the 2XLT since I have a longer torso than normal and I wanted to be able to conceal my waistband sufficiently (not just to conceal any firearms but also to conceal my fat belly lol).I am so happy with this, I may buy another just for the wardrobe color variety, and then move back to Alaska so I can wear it for longer.

This made my husband so happy. Of course you have Carhart quality, but these vest are hard to fine. He has a heavier one, but wanted one like this. Perfect for chilly days but not so cold as to need a heavy vest.Of course just as described in the ad
