It’s here! 3iQ Ventures Announces the long awaited release of the 1” SCWD.The 1” SCWD from 3iQ Ventures was designed and built to the highest standards of Quality and Reliability. Designed with large aquarium and pond applications in mind, this device will provide increased water movement at higher volume rates. With its 1” standard threaded inlet and outlets, the device can be hard plumbed with PVC fittings, or soft plumbed using barbed fittings. The cap is removable, which allows for easy maintenance. With the new drive design, the 1” SCWD will run with pump applications from 500 GPH to 3500 GPH. Besides the obvious physical differences, the design of the 1” SCWD is targeted toward higher water volume output, with a substantially increased switching duration. Good idea, but too much hassle
This review is for the 1" " servicable" SCWD. I service several saltwater tanks that used this as their original wavemaker unit. Of those five only one is currently still working and that was after three attempts to clean it out and eventually the entire drive unit was replaced. The other four tanks currently sport a hollow housing, including my own tank. My scwd worked for two weeks. Something is fundamentally wrong in the design of the 1" unit. Save your money and if you like the idea of the svwd, then buy the 3/4" non-servicable unit. It will probably die on you in two years, but that is better than believing you can simply clean out the other model and all will be well. I really wish it had worked....I loved my 3/4" unit which is why I upgraded to the one inch...but now the prospect of replumbing the entire return line and bulkhead returns had left me bitter with this manufacturer.

Would not buy again
Don't seem to be working. Not sure if I did something wrong.No longer works at all.Just removed guts to essentially make an expensive tee.
