I am so happy I found this. I have a "liniment" that I make using dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO) and Castor bean oil which I apply to my poor, achy arthritic joints. After that, I rub in a Ben Gay knockoff which contains methylsalicylate as its active ingredient. It was a two-step process until this arrived in the mail. The ointment will not dissolve in either carrier (DMSO & CBO), but this formulation does, saving me a few steps. I not only recommend this product, I also recommend checking out my DIY formula yourself.

so mix this with isopropyl and soak rubber parts and it really did work. thin rubber tends to curl and deform. thicker rubber really does restore elasticity and a supple surface.

Found a method to use to soften rubber online. Wintergreen is an essential part along with rubbing alcohol. I had to cut an old rubber fuel line and install a metal connector for a lift pump, the line had lost elasticity and I was saved by this method. Took longer that expected and the edge did swell but got the part attached without leaks 2 months ago. Use outdoors very strong smell, garage smells great.
