A compendium of advice from experienced biotech entrepreneurs
When I bought Biotech Entrepreneurship, I was hoping to find a textbook that I could use to quickly gain access to the language and strategies biotech entrepreneurs use when starting their businesses. I did not expect to read a compendium of voices from generations of experienced biotechnologists. I never expected to read about why it is so important for the executive leadership of a biotech company to create a company culture rooted in compassion. Didn't expect to read about interesting patent history, or how statistical anomalies contribute to risk behavior. I did not expect to hear how meditation helped some entrepreneurs increase their focus and creativity. If you need help creating a roadmap to get from where you are to where you want to go, this book can help. If you need to know what investors are looking for in a pitch deck, there's a chapter on it. Are you trying to navigate a complex IP landscape? There are examples of biotech startups successfully doing so to help give you ideas. If you are just looking to learn more about the biotech industry, this book will explain the different technologies, professions, and business sectors within the industry. I found the book to be well-written and, frankly, I just really enjoyed reading it. I'm grateful to Craig Shimasaki and the book's many authors for sharing their compelling stories and wealth of experience.

Required reading for Biotech professionals
This is the definitive book on establishing and running a biotechnology company from start-up to IPO and beyond. It is an extremely comprehensive go-to covering many subjects in great depth. The author also provides a platform for well-known industry experts who have written some of the chapters, recommends several authors and books within specific subjects and chapters, and provides extensive references. He has also practiced what he is teaching and has led several biotechnology companies. As a seasoned biotechnology finance professional, I'd highly recommend immersing yourself in this book....you may want to add some highlighters to your purchase as you will be needing them no matter what level of expertise you are bringing into the endeavor.

A must-read for biotech entrepreneurs
This book is a must for biotech entrepreneurs and business development professionals. The book is easy to read and the contents are rich. I purchased a book a year ago and I put this book at my desk for references and guidance for every issue I encounter working at a biotech startup. Very practical and useful.

Very Good Book
This is a must read for any prospective bio-entrepreneurs who are new to non-academic biomedical research as I am. While I have had friends in industry here and there, I have been an academic for most of my research career. This book provides an excellent overview of the many considerations to commercializing intellectual property.

Great Details
The book is very informative, it discusses super interesting topics, great content. Impressive, how much work it must have been to collect and write down all that information.

Contents look fascinating, but book-binding poor
I'm very much looking forward to reading this having preordered it several months ago. However, straight out of the box, the cover doesn't lie flat and the pages have significant waves in them which can't be right for a new hardback. It looks as though it got damp at some point. The packaging could have retained the book a little more firmly also.
